"I recently purchased a Yakima lock&load roof-top platform at this store. I was informed by a member of the store that everything I needed (excluding the tools required) was included in the box. As it turned out, the Yakima product did not include clamps necessary to mount it to the car. This was a last minute purchase for a road trip I would be taking the following weekend and I was in a rush to get the thing installed. REI sold this product to me without the necessary parts required to use it and did not have any in stock. Moreover, they did not have a solution for me. (I ended up using hose clamps and some zipties to lock it down, it was not ideal!) This shows poor inventory management and a lack of knowledge in the sales associates. I understand this is a new product and the store was excited to put it on the floor but it put me in a tough position."

They carry all the top name brand gear you need for all your adventures in Alaska and beyond. If your a member you get a percent back on all purchases, which is nice if you shop there often, you get a dividend. The selection of sleeping bags is great for the outdoorsy person. The cast iron skillets, Dutch ovens and frying pans are awesome."
