"I have never stayed at the hotel. The location is ok. If you are head into Wasilla towards Fredmyer, it's easy to get to, but if you are headed towards Walmart, it can be difficult to get across traffic. They have pretty good food and decent cocktails. I like their skillets the most."
"I choose to stay here for self quarantining after a trip that put my mother at risk. They were extremely helpful and kind. There isn't much in the room for amenities, but the price couldn't be beat. The restaurant and bar below the rooms was lively and filled with locals and history from my younger years. A local place with historic past to lay your head down off the road and have a bite and a brew."
"Hubby and I just stopped in at the Cafe for breakfast. Loved the extra thick bacon. Service was friendly."
"Ordered the stuffed French toast. It has gone up a ton over the years but I thought I’d treat myself. The menu says any meat. I ordered the reindeer sausage and they charged me 2.50 extra. When I brought this up to the manager she wanted to argue about it. My wife and I both ordered this meal and they only credited one. Attempted to talk to the waitress after and she ignored me. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Wasilla. Won’t be going back for a long time."
"I was really torn about how to rate this establishment. My experience here had some pretty extreme up and downs. We arrived at the hotel very early in the morning because there had been a flood issue at the Airbnb that we were booked at and we had to leave suddenly at around 5:00 a.m.. they were incredibly accommodating and had an available room that they let us check into right away so we could get a few more hours should I as we had had an interesting night dealing with said water issues. The next afternoon we went into Anchorage to do some shopping and decided that we should stay one more night, we called the hotel and they said they were more than happy to extend us without issue and we could just pay the balance ( this was the same $amount as the deposit we had left in cash ) Upon returning to the hotel that afternoon. Because of a miscommunication I believed that my fiance had stopped at the bar and paid the additional amount when he headed out that afternoon. I was in the shower that evening around 5:00 p.m. when someone came banging on the door they were from downstairs and let me know that he had not paid, I was mortified told them that I would finish my shower and be right down. They proceeded to knock on the door again every 5 minutes while I was trying to rinse off and throw clothes on because the downstairs area/ front desk is a very public area inside of the bar. It took 15 minutes from first knock to me coming downstairs, keep in mind this entire time they have had our deposit to cover this stay and had agreed for us to pay in the afternoon, admittedly we were about 3 hours behind schedule. When I went down to speak to the manager who had requested to speak to me in person, I was informed that they would be charging me a $20 an hour fee, meaning they were keeping my deposit for no reason, and that she didn't want my money for that night but I was to pack my things and get off the property. I was absolutely shocked and Blown Away. What kind of management is this? She couldn't have been much older than early twenties, I'm certain she had a reason for thinking this was the best course of action.. but the hotel was not booked, we weren't an issue, and we were not skating them.. I received zero understanding, zero communication, and honestly what I would consider to be some of the rudest treatment I've ever experienced from that manager. The poor guy from the bar that she sent to my room was quite sweet, as was every other person that I came in contact with that stay. The restaurant staff was Top Notch and the food we ordered was absolutely delicious. So much to say I will potentially give this place another shot when I'm next in need of a quick room for a nap and a shower on the go, but God forbid you actually need customer service from their management."
