"Amazing place. Highly recommend visiting if you have any interest at all in history and/or the old west."
"I absolutely love Bannack. We stayed in the campground. It's just outside of the entrance to the park. We rented the tipi. Unfortunately, we were in the company of a family of mice, which chased us to the car. I'm not holding that against it! I've visited Bannack nearly a dozen times and each time I am amazed at the preservation efforts to keep these historical buildings standing. It truly is remarkable. Highly suggest the walk up to the gallows and the cemetery. The rich and dark history in Bannack will send shivers up your spine! What a neat way to learn about Montana's history!"
"Excellent example of an old West gold mining town. Fascinating history. We spent far longer than I anticipated, about three hours. The ranger in the visitor center loans out a booklet describing each building and the history of it and it’s inhabitants. This greatly improved our understanding of the place."
"What a great state park to visit! The ghost town is amazing, most of the buildings you can enter & look around, unlike others we've visited that are look but don't touch. Kids had a fun time looking around, lots of seating for those looking to rest in the heat. Several available restrooms and a large parking lot sweetened the deal! It's definitely worth going off the beaten path!!"
"This town was in remarkably good shape as far as ghost towns go. Many of the houses could probably use some improvement, and there were a number that were restricted for storage. The park range was super, friendly, and informative. The Mason lodge was also cool. We enjoyed reading about the different houses and people. I am guessing this place also does special events, it would be fun to visit again for a live action event. Note, this is out in the middle of nowhere, like a lot of ghost towns, there is no cell service."
