"I went to see Willy Wonka with my roommate who had family starring in this musical. The whole cast are local thespians, from the door/ticket takers to the backstage hands to costume to actors. Everyone who is involved wears many different hats and it was so much fun to see people I knew or had seen about town, giving their all to this production. My roommates grandson was Charlie, a special treat for us and he gave a wonderful performance, as did they all, I especially loved the dedication and thoroughness of the character research, Willy was portrayed exactly as the author wrote him and i felt the other characters walked off the pages of the original book as well. Think Gene Wilder meets Johnny Depp meets indifferent Uncle. Costumes and sets were a large step up from high school production without breaking the bank or making tickets outrageous and costly. It was a fun afternoon out and I will definitely go to the next production, this time making it a date night with adults."
