"The posts I bought did not have any preservative deeper than 1/8"!! I became suspicious when cracks started to appear as the posts dried and it appeared that the treat didn't go very deep. I decided to use my pocket knife to shave off a sliver of wood and see just how far the "pressure treat" actually went. I cut no more than an 1/8" and exposed white untreated wood. Their claim of PRESSURE TREATING posts appears to me to be totally false. Maybe quickly dipped but I don't believe for a second that there was any effort at getting the preservative into the wood fiber. I ended up applying numerous coats of Copper Green from Lowes in hopes that the posts would last more than a couple of years."
