"We chose Granite Peak because it seemed like the right fit and was much more economical than another orthodontist we had consulted. But our experience here has been frustrating. When my daughter's overbite became noticeably worse instead of better, I called to ask for an appointment to discuss her treatment. There had been little to no discussion other than the initial consult. Instead of providing an appointment, I was transferred to a clinical manager who absolutely did not listen to me and defaulted to blaming my daughter for not wearing her rubber bands. In fact, they taught her to put them in backward and the reason the overbite got worse was because she absolutely was wearing the bands, confirmed when they finally saw her. They made the problem they're there to correct worse. The orthodontist himself later admitted this mistake and apologized, but how long would this have gone on if I didn't say something? How is this acceptable? They had checked her multiple times, gave her the OK and ushered her out. They put my daughter on auto-pilot and squeeze so many patients in there, they couldn't even offer to see me when I called them with a problem. I am not one to "go Karen" on adults dealing with my children. I defer to their expertise. I encourage my kids to be independent and work out their complications. In this case, though, I was made to feel like just another over-protective mom before anyone took the time to actually look at what was happening with my daughter's care. I don't appreciate she was blamed for their mistake and I do not appreciate the way I was treated when I brought it to their attention. We're sticking it out. What choice do we really have at this point? But I would not recommend Granite Peak after this experience."
