"Used Gary's Meat as part of the Salt Lake County Jr. Livestock Show/Auction. Everything turned out great & tasted delicious. Gary's Meat was also able to accommodate organ requests which was nice (heart, liver, etc.)"
"Not impressed at all. Bought 1/4 of a cow but didn’t realize it was a small 500 lbs cow. Spent $600 got two boxes of meat most of it ground beef. I’ve ordered from Utah natural meat. Spent $1000 got 4 boxes of meat around 200 lbs amd tons of different steak cuts and roast. It was wrapped in plastic then paper. And when I would pull out a block of meat, they were usually 3-4 steaks in each wrapping. Not Gary’s I’ve got maybe 80lbs of meat amd 60 of it is ground beef. Wont be going back"
"Ok after reading reviews after I already had a close date I became a little worried so let’s see if I remember everyone. To the guy who wanted it packaged for resale: they put a paper in front of me as soon as I approached the counter that I was to fill out if mine was for resale. It wasn’t, I didn’t. Did you? To the guy who wanted the briskets: it’s tough fatty meat that has to be cooked a certain way. It’s greasy when done. But it makes fantastic hamburger Pattie’s. Not everyone wants that cut I demanded it ground up! Of course you have to ask for it. Ok oh and don’t like noise? You knew what you were moving next to. Don’t like it move! Ok now mine people had me worried. When they told me hang weight I didn’t believe them so I went and looked. Waste of time. It was mine. It was right And I weighed the end product I believe it was all there and processed beautifully I’ve eaten slot now and it’s everything I asked for nice people even though I might have even been a little rude. Don’t believe these bad reviews. They made the mistake not Gary’s meats. First time for me and I’ve found my new butcher. Got a date for the one mowing my lawn now. And I paid a lot less for butcher fee than my neighbor paid for his. His is packaged beautifully also though. His was less driving than mine. Kinda even In the end but I’m moving closer to Gary’s anyway with more land. Picture of 320# hanging packaged minus couple hamburger and a package of steaks. Sure looks good to me! Packaged bone in. Haven’t opened a-roast yet. Bone out would be smaller and more hamburger. Also steaks 1 in. Thick again less hamburger think about what you want. If you want the commodities you must ask. Most people don’t want them . Don’t know what that is just ask. They were nice. Oh and note that mine was a big square boy butchered light should have gone at least 200# more and trust me any rancher would have kept this one!"
"Less than impressed with Gary’s meat. We took my wife’s elk here to get processed and let’s just say I’ll be making the investment to just do it all myself in the future. I didn’t learn the first time….and I got a 1/2 beef from a family friend and used Gary’s as the butcher again. I specifically remember saying I wanted the LEAST amount of burger possible, and all of the good cuts. Brisket, steaks, roasts, etc. I called today to ask why I didn’t get a brisket and they said you have to specifically request it. Well, I DID. Apparently whoever took my order over the phone didn’t write it down. But tell me this, WHY wouldn’t you leave one of the best cuts to the customer? Makes me ask, are they selling my cut of brisket on the side to other customers? I hope they didn’t grind it into burger because that would surely be a waste… Save your energy and money and go some place else."
"We bought a full beef from Gary's Meat last year. It has been fantastic. The flavor is perfect in all the cuts. We got a good variety of steaks, burger, roasts, etc. Everything is packaged very well and folks that work there were friendly and nice to do business with. The beef has been so good that we just ordered a pig to try. Will definitely be getting a beef from them again."
