Sophie Lake Retreat

"Andrea's hospitality and culinary talents made for a great welcome to our second trip to the Sophie Lake Retreat in nothern Montana. From the steak dinner on our arrival to the morning huckleberry muffins, everything was beautiful, tasty, and made us feel at home! The activities around the creekside cottage are just the right amount after being out on the lake in the warm afternoon. We enjoyed a rest in the hammacks, before playing corn hole while watching the sunset through the sparkling aspen leaves, and ended our days with a hotly contested game of cribbage while enjoying the outdoor fire pit. Going for walks around this expansive woodland property and enjoying the great outdoors of Lake Koocanusa, Trego Pub, and the Indian Springs trails were highlights as well. We loved checking out Andrea's garden, at the entrance to the Retreat, and the lovely flower arrangements added to the ambiance of our stay. The attention to all details allowed us to just enjoy being together in this beautiful space!"

The relaxation it offered was unparalleled, and the cottage was thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed. Its prime location added to the overall charm, making our stay truly unforgettable. For anyone seeking a serene and rejuvenating escape, we wholeheartedly recommend the Sophie Lake Retreat. The dock on the lake had all the essentials covered, from umbrellas and floats to kayaks. It made our time there even more enjoyable and convenient. We could easily grab an umbrella for some shade, hop onto a float for a leisurely time on the water, or take out a kayak for a bit of adventure. The thoughtful inclusion of these items definitely added to the overall experience of our stay by the lake. We only regretted not being able to make the most of our hosts' offer to prepare a few meals for us. The freshly baked cinnamon rolls they provided upon our arrival were absolutely delightful and left us wishing we had experienced more of their culinary treats. The warm and inviting gesture truly added a special touch to our stay at the cottage."

"I cannot say enough good things about this retreat. The cottage we stayed in was beautifully appointed, and the flow from the thoughtfully decorated and appointed interiors to peaceful exterior seating arrangements for solitary reading or for gathering…is just incredible. Highly recommend having on site chef’s prepared meals that are in sync with the seasons. We slept so well in the beds, listening to the bubbling creek right outside our windows. This was restorative, a place to pause and reflect, or a base camp for adventures. We will be back. We felt at home, welcomed and at peace. Counting the days until I can return to this spot. At an easy hour drive from Whitefish, it FAR exceeds anything there in terms of luxury and comfort. And the little town of Eureka is perfect for a lunchtime shopping excursion."
