"My husband and I have been with Ashworth Tax for 4 years and usually we have a great experience but this year we had an experience that has made us rethink using them. We had our taxes done by Monte and during our actual appointment, he was great, but unfortunately they gave us someone else’s taxes. How they handled this situation is where I have issues with their business. When I called to let them know, Marcie was great help and asked us to come in to see what had happened. My husband and I went in bringing them back the other person’s taxes, Marcie was great again and was so thankful we were honest people and brought the other taxes back. Unfortunately, not everyone is Marcie… not once did Monte or Amy, whom we worked with when doing our taxes, come out to apologize for the mix up. It would been nice if they’d come to talk with us about our concerns that our information could be out there with someone else, someone who may not be as honest. My problem with the situation is there was no accountability there had been a mistake made. As the Ashworth team was trying to figure out what had happened, I heard Amy say she did not give us the wrong papers… she did because I literally brought someone else’s tax papers back. I understand mistakes happen but when they do, as a business owner, take some responsibility and make sure your customers are taken care of."

"Don't go to Mont, they screwed up on my taxes and put in the wrong account number for my refund. When I called, they said call the IRS, no apology and no offer to pay back the $440 I paid them to screw up my tax return. Stay away, no help, no sympathy, horrible service"

"I rarely take the time to leave negative reviews for businesses, but I need to do this one as a public service announcement. I have been with Ashworth Tax for 2 years. During tax season I've never had any major issues. However, it came to my attention (from an Audit) that there was a major error in my state taxes. It had to do with the fact that I am active duty military and not a resident of the state. I actually was owed ~$6000 from the state. I brought this to the attention of Dan and Mont and they not only were unhelpful, but they refused to admit a very clear error in their previous advice to me. After I insisted on filing an amendment to recoup the funds that I had lost on their behest, they then wanted to charge me $200 to file it. I ended up finding another great accountant to help me out and was able to recoup the money from the state through an amendment. But I was just astonished by the lack of care from Ashworth and his colleagues. To make matters worse, as this occurred outside of tax season (August), I found them to be incredibly unresponsive during this period. it would take them up to a week to return emails or calls about this issue. Finally, in my final interaction with Dan over email asking him to reconsider how he was approaching the situation, I simply got an email response saying "good luck finding someone else who can help you...". I was stunned by the lack of professionalism and lack of care for a client of two years. I will not be returning to Ashworth tax and feel it important to let others know about my experience with them. Lastly, since I'm already doing a review for them, I found them to process clients WAY to quickly during regular filing. They did not seem to care about getting things right. Just wanted to get you in and out in as short of a time as possible. There were some complex things with my return but they tended to just look for the simplest solution (a consequence of which ended me to be out the $6000 from the state). No one there seemed to really be interested in doing their job to the best of their abilities."

"Serious! Don't go anywhere else. Mont and Dan and staff are top notch. They've helped me so much on complicated returns and been there always. Fees are fair and I love how laid back and cool they are. There are a million tax places, but I can promise you there are none with such a small hometown feel, yet so professional and affordable. And I love Mont's rock collection he shares with clients in the office. So cool! Im blessed to have known Mont and Dan. Dan is a rockstar in every way! Sharp as a tack, quick, accurate, and is always there for you. I LOVE the guy and highly highly recommend him. And I love how they keep things in the family, small office out of the home, and are just so wonderful. I mean, who decks out their entire roof with Christmas figires and lights as a neighborhood tradition the last 30+ years? Just the coolest people ever! Definitely call them for your tax, payroll, and business. You will be soo glad you did."
