"I called prior to my appointment to find out pricing. After explaining over the phone the simplicity of my taxes I was told it would likely be around $130. Somehow going from using the Standard Deduction to Itemizing for just my Mortgage Interest and Property taxes it netted me $147 over the Standard Deduction, but then since that added forms to the process my price to have my taxes done went up to 295. If you do the math 295-130=165, which is more than I gained by Itemizing. I feel like the senior Tax Specialist should have recommended my taking the Standard Deduction. Rather than me losing money the aim should have been to do what gains/saves me money. 14 minutes of work for $295 hell of a return for H&R Block."
