"I’m not a resident but a neighbor. These homes are beautiful from the outside and a good aesthetic addition to our community. However, residents of this townhome complex have decided it’s totally cool to light off fireworks in their parking lot at all hours of the early morning. First off, the city ordinance does not allow fireworks east of 900 east (which these homes are). Second, it is illegal to light personal fireworks off in a parking lot not owned by the person lighting the fireworks (I highly doubt these people own the property of calla homes, fat cats bowling, the credit union, or the neighboring strip mall). Third, even IF 1 and 2 weren’t true, 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, and as of Christmas morning of 2023, 4 am, are illegal times for fireworks. The neighborhood is full of children, dogs, and working class people who (like myself) have to work early in the morning. I get up at 4 am for work. 3 am is a bad time for fireworks. Calla Homes management, please fix this. The cops aren’t fixing it. Apparently your residents don’t care that the cops come every time they do fireworks. You fix this please."
"I’ve lived at Calla Homes apartments for almost 1.5 years now. We love it here. My dog loves t play on the grass and the garage has tons of storage in addition to room for both cars. Dresden from the office always helps me with everything I need and even followed up with me when my insurance lapsed. I love that these are brand new and I wouldn’t mind staying here for a while."
"UPDATE to 5/5: After living at Calla for 11 months, figured it might be time to update the review. For the unit itself, I have absolutely no complaints. I love the layout of our unit and the features. The countertops and cabinets in the kitchen are fantastic. The carpet and flooring are still great and look just like new. The only change to the interior of the unit would be the kitchen sink. Having a fixed faucet makes cleaning the sink a little more different than a detachable sink head. Not something I thought I would miss initially, but definitely something I wish our unit had. For the staff, I would say they are a large reason of why I am so happy with our unit. Maintenance is extremely friendly and quick to respond. Haven't had an issue that lasts more than 1-2 business days. I see one of the maintenance people pretty frequently when I am coming or going and he always waves. Kelsey and Dresden in the office are great as well. Very quick to respond and great at answering questions and addressing concerns. All in all, probably my favorite apartment staff I've ever had. Utilities are still great for the unit size. I pay about $100 a month for electricity and gas which is about what I was paying at my last place for a 700sqft apartment (currently in a 1600sqft unit). The common areas have definitely came together in the past several months. The grass is doing much better and it seems like they've added some grills. The common areas always seem to be well taken care of on a regular basis. There is a dead tree and some dead shrubs near our unit, but with winter quickly approaching, it's not much of an issue. Neighbors are still great. We tend to keep to ourselves, but the occasional wave or quick hows-it-going is pretty typical. Never had any issues with noise or anything like that. The only noise I ever hear from the neighbors are the occasional front door slam that shakes the walls a tiny bit. It's noise is increased by some wall hangings we have, but overall is a negligible issue. Overall, I'm extremely happy with Calla Homes and am looking forward to extending our lease into 2020."
"I have been here since September of last year while there was still construction going on. We looked at several townhomes before choosing this one. This is why I chose these, they are new, the location, open floor plans, kitchen and living room are open (great for hosting), washer and dryer just a couple of feet away from the master bedroom (didn't want to be going up and down to wash) and the fact that Fat Cats is just yards away to take a little break once in a while. My biggest thing was finding a place where I can have my dogs as well as a dog park near by since I don't have a yard for them anymore. I found one just five minutes away driving time heading north on 900 E. Overall, I have no complaints."
"STAY AWAY!!!!!! Fraud!!! Where to begin, first off the leasing agent put me in a unit that was not the agreed upon unit. Also the unit I was put in was at 112 degrees inside the bedrooms and the air conditioner was not on or working. I had to call emergency maintenance and he had me do certain things to get it working, he admitted the company does not have them on/working to save money even though people are moving in and all calling him saying it's unlivable. Then the unit he did put me in had a broken window in the kitchen(this is a brand new construction BTW). He pointed the window out to me and stated that they are aware of it and will have it fixed in a week, or two weeks max. 5 almost 6 months into my lease the window still isn't fixed after numerous conversations with them. They would ignore, say they would call back and not follow through and various other shady tactics. Finally, when I said I want out of my contract for failure to resolve the issue within a reasonable amount of time, they refused, even though you pay a maintenance fee per month as well while no maintenance is provided. They said I could leave but still have to pay the almost $2000 a month for the place till they found a renter. They finally found one on the LAST month of my lease. And now are charging me back the 1st month rent promo so that I paid the same amount for this place anyways. I lived there for 5 months, but paid for 10 since they are corrupt. Also they ILLEGALLY entered my property several times with out any notice while I was still in possesion of it. They refuse to fix their issues and have so many complaints that even their managers won't stay. In 9 months from when I started my lease they have gone through THREE managers Apparently the first ones lied to me about certain charges I wouldn't be charged(Fraud) to get me to turn in my keys. And the CURRENT manager, name starts with a K gives misinformation at the they least, and doesn't even respond to pressing matters for up to 21 days or more at times( I can provide emails if anyone wants). They also don't notate the accounts, I have had over 20 interactions with the 3 managers and receptionist. According to the current manager only 1 note has been documented this whole time by previous managers about my issue. They have profited almost $10000 off of me when they have failed to comply by Utah landlord laws. When turning in my keys I spoke to two people who I told them I had about two small scratches, 1 in or smaller, in the paint from moving furniture, I just wanted to make sure I wouldnt be charged for something that is normal wear and tear. They assured me they already saw it(proof again they entered my residence without warning or approval) and said it was something I wouldn't be charged for. I am now being charged $275 for a 1 min paint job. PLEASE do yourself a FAVOR and stay away from ANY properties owned and managed by Calla Homes(Tapestry Townhomes) and Lotus management company. I am apalled such companies like this are allowed to exist. I know of 5 other residents from my time there who have similar stories."
