"Used to be cheaper. Now you get what you pay for if you value being close to campus. Management is fine, and maintenance requests are taken care of in an reasonable amount of time. The staff are great but the big bosses who write the contract policies and fees just want to get as much money as they can out of you without making you too mad. I had to go through a process to have them give me my own bike back which they took because it didn't have the monticello tag on it fast enough at the beginning of the semester. They were late in making those tags available and I missed the email when they said they were ready. I had to buy a new bike lock because they cut mine when they took my bike and wouldn't repay me for the lock."
"Monticello white brick apartments are pretty rundown, crowded and outdated (poor AC/heating, iffy plumbing, suspicious carpet, creaky windows and shaky floors. But the location is ideal and the ward is great. This is definitely a step up from Campus Plaza but you can get nicer apartments for the same price a little farther away from campus. The couches are not awful and the mattress wasn’t problematic. Come tour it and decide for yourself:)"
"I have enjoyed living here so far. The management is super nice and stay on top of requests. The maintenance team is fast to fix issues, even on their busy days. They are constantly working on improving and upgrading the apartments, and we now have fiber internet."
"I really can't say how disappointed I am with the hidden fees of Monticello. I had read the poor reviews before signing my lease and I really wish I had listened to them. Application fee is $150 and transfer fee is $250. I can't believe I wasted so much money on a greedy Red Stone managed property. Edit 01.25: The fees aren’t hidden sure, just placed throughout a 30 page lease agreement. Even putting the fees aside, they charged me full rent for the month of August when the move-in date is August 29. They try to justify it by saying that you don’t pay for August at the end of your contract but the contract ends half way through August. So really you pay a full month of rent up front for a half month of living there. I tried to bring up that I planned to sell my contract so I wouldn’t be there the following August and there explanation can be summed up with, “Well that’s too bad, just is how it is.”"
