Reviews of Ascent at Union Square
"The manager is always on top of his game and willing and ready to help residents. He is always looking at ways to improve residents living while here and really cares about his job. 10/10 recommends living here. The leasing specialist and maintenance team know what they are doing and are so kind."
"The maintenance is fast to deal with issues and rent is on the low end for Provo. All amenities are working in my unit so I don't really have any complaints. The biggest issue I have is the coin laundry. They have quarters in the office, but if you work during office hours, quarters can be hard to come by. Apartments could also use heating units in the bedrooms."
"I am in my early 40’s and I’ll say, very vocal about how I feel about things and how I’m treated. This complex has been amazing. They are great about returning texts and getting things serviced through maintenance. I am so comfortable with maintenance I feel comfortable with letting them in my home and I’m single woman who has been through a lot, that’s no easy feat. The office has been awesome about not only doing what I needed and direct communication but also they have created fun events where I could go once a month and meet others in the complex and feel more like a community with my neighbors. I don’t have to worry about an issue here because I know without a doubt that someone will be in that within a reasonable amount of time, be mindful of all the tenants, and make sure my experience isn’t just one where I feel like I’m a renter but this is my home. I know before I got here a family member had told me they read reviews and the dog poop issue and it’s not the apartment complex’s responsibility to be an adult for the tenants who can’t be responsible adults and do that themselves. Many people here have dogs. And I mean many as in more than I can remember their names and I am a huge animals lover but I keep finding that anything that anyone else seems to focus on is their own issue and they need to really think about if they want a place that is going to take care of them or the irresponsible tenants who can’t adult. I feel safe, I feel like they communicate with me, I have never had a challenge they haven’t worked with me on and the office staff I knew one person in there before I moved in and they are so much happier and better than the place we used to work together. Things my home. Before I was in a shelter and that was chaos. Here I feel seen for my need, felt because I am safe and heard because there isn’t a single detail I have mentioned in my own anxiety that someone has jumped on to help me feel like the investment I make in this property as a renter isn’t just about putting g money here and a bedroom but it’s my own place, my own sanctuary and absolutely the one place in the world I can be and k ow that everything will be ok, the people around me are ok and it’s so safe I literally after trauma can walk around the streets here and know that I’m gonna be ok, I can work through my own anxiety and heck yeah this is my home and I truely welcome others who are looking for that amazing space to live and work from home or live and study or live and just have their lives to be in sync with tha amazing and well kept beautiful property that I not only love at put welcome others in my life to come and visit me at and enjoy the space. I will forever be grateful to the people here, from the staff to my amazing neighbors who I can take good to when I make way to much to the people I randomly meet on the street and can look up from my doenward stare and say hello to and I k ow it’s all good. I love it here and plan to renew no matter what my situation is at the end of my agreement because I know they got me and we are a team. Not a controller and controlled person situation. It’s my home, and I haven’t been able to say that in at least a decade."
"We love it here! It is our first apartment and it has been perfect for us! Close to BYU and in a nice area! Maintenance is great and front desk is awesome! The only down side is it isn’t close to a bus stop."
"Union Square (or more specifically Redstone Residential) is the definition of dishonest, greedy, and uncaring. The first issue that I would like to address is the poop. The amount of dog poop that accumulated on the grass areas as well as the TURF is astounding as well as a health hazard to all the residents that live in the complex. It was an unspoken rule at the complex that the grass areas were a no go zone to walk across unless you were willing to risk smelling like feces at your next class and ruin your shoes. Management tried to address the poop issue with emails littered with empty threats and complaints, but during my two year stay, the poop has only gotten worse. The parking situation at Union Square is horrendous. The driveway is barely large enough for two small cars to pass each other and there were multiple occasions where I had to back up and allow a larger car to pass before I could enter the driveway. The parking lot above the parking garage was falling apart, there was a hole in the concrete where the parking lot was caving in and in response to this safety hazard, Union Square put a cone and a home depot bucket around it and acted like it did not exist for over a year. Speaking of the parking garage, I would not recommend parking underground if you value the undercarriage of your car, the angle is so steep unless you have a lifted car or SUV you are guaranteed to scrape and almost get high centered on your way out. If poop and parking issues were not bad enough, the garbage cans were guaranteed to be overflowing every single week. The trash would pile so high that it resembled a miniature model of mount timpanogos and it would ultimately always topple over into the underground parking and scatter everywhere. There were always multiple couches and mattresses littered throughout the complex and piled next to the dumpster even though they have to be disposed of at a landfill. Union Square addressed this issue not by finding the perpetrators, but by threatening to charge every resident a fee because “it was costing them money”. Overall this place has such great potential to be a great place to live, but Redstone Residential only cares about their profit margins, NOI, and ruining Provo one apartment complex at a time. (Since I know they will have a crafty response and excuses for all of these issues, here are pictures to validate my claims)"
