Reviews of Eight20 Apartments
"Very clean, quiet, and surprisingly very spacious on the inside. The staff is very respectful and kind. They are also very helpful and answer all the questions I have asked. They are quick efficient hardworking people."
"Eight20 continues to do business with an extremely predatory towing company Liberty Towing to monitor their parking lots. I strongly suspect Eight20 is receiving illegal kick backs. Liberty Towing is unbelievably evil. In 2017, Liberty Towing took a residents car from their own designating parking spot because the resident could not afford to have their tags on their vehicle updated. That resident's child was dying in the hospital, and Liberty towing did not release the residents car when they could not pay the nearly $400 price to have their own released. The resident was unable to see their own dying child. This last weekend Liberty Towing stole my vehicle out my own designated parking spot. Liberty strategically left a notice on my car Friday night stating my tags were expired (they were a few weeks expired because I honestly forgot to renew them). I did not see the notice until Saturday afternoon. I immediately made arrangements to have my tags updated at the literal next available time the DMV was open on Monday, but when I went to leave on Monday morning at 7:45am my car was already at the impound lot. When I explained to the front office at Eight20 that liberty towing literally not give me any time to have my tags updated and charged an outrageous fee ($400), they couldn't have cared less. It's unbelievable that Eight20 hires a tow company that is obviously using predatory tactics on their own residents! These are the unethical people you will deal with if you live here."
"They got a wild hair and decided to start locking up the laundry building last night. I literally do my laundry after ten every single week but this week they locked my clothes in and still aren't here this morning to open it. The office people are late every single day and incredibly unhelpful. They change owners far too often anyway."
"The absolute WORST place I’ve rented from. I was told I could move in at 11am, when I showed up with my moving truck they said the apartment was being worked on and I would have to come back at 2pm. I had to sit in the truck for 3 hours and wait. When I went into the apt at 2 they were still working on the dishwasher. There were multiple HOLES IN THE WALL!!! There was dirt, food and legos all over all of the kitchen and closet shelves. The front door was molded and falling apart and the window sills were full of MOLD! The dishwasher still didn’t worked and would overflow the sink any time the sink or the dishwasher was used, it smelled like sewage all the time. I put in a maintenance request every week for a month and never got a response or anyone to fix it until I called the emergency line. The bathroom sink and tub were clogged and they never fixed that. I put in multiple maintenance requests that were ignored for weeks. I’m now moving out and they took my whole $500 deposit as well as charged me $230 for “cleaning” when they don’t actually clean or fix anything for the next tenant. Don’t live here unless you want to be screwed over multiple times and live in a dirty moldy environment."
"I moved into Eight20 from outta state Jun.2021 because of a job transfer and ended up moving out recently Nov.2023 again to a job transfer. I would say if you’re a first time apartment renter, Eight20 isn’t bad but theres definetly better. PROS: -Moving in Stephanie Gomez (Idk if she still works there actually) was super helpful for me and responded quickly to my emails/questions. She got my paperwork done in a timely manner which is what I really needed from the stress of coming from out of state!!! -Otherwise, the inside of the apartment was clean but I could tell it wasn’t deep cleaned recently when I had first moved in. Theres a few spots after thorough looking around you can just see ‘The Landlord Special’ -Neighbors wise, it really just depends. My neighbors were very friendly and majority of the people were kind when passing. It definitely is a family apartment complex, so heads up, theres usually kids and dogs around. But I know what people mean when I read other comments saying there are a couple loud ones. I was just lucky enough to not have any! -Maintence was usually on top of it (most of the time, 2 out of 3) and when I was home they were always kind and always tried to explain and fill me in with what they were going to try to do that day. The request, I would say would take like a week, less than a week for them to come and fix it though. -Moving out process wasn’t bad as I thought. I gave my 30 day notice through the resident app and even got a recommendation check list email from Michelle. I made sure to clean as best as I could and tried to leave it better than I had come. But because of the renters insurance the claim did cover a few things I did forget but in the end I ended up not having to pay any hidden fees or owe anything to them. Even when I had to postpone the last move out day due errors of moving out of state again, Michelle quickly reposponed back and let me do so making my move easy. For sure a plus! CONS: -As for the office. Don’t bother calling, you can leave a voice mail though but chances are you won’t get a call back. Your best bet is emailing or using the resident app and if anything to just go straight to the office to resovle the issue. Everytime I did go to the office though, it usually was very occupied so I always tried to be quick in and quick out (I’d like to note, I only ever went to the office if it was URGENT, so not a lot) -Also the laundry facility is almost always dirty and something is always broken. I gave up after the first couple visits of my clothes being damp after trying to dry it for 2+hrs. From then I just gave up and went to the closest laundromat down the street. -The other thing is I think I started paying my rent at $1200 something with a 12month lease and didn’t sign another lease but just ended up doing a month to month. At first it was $1500 but after 3 months of that the remaining 12 months ended up coming to almost $1800 after everything. So def don’t do that option and steer clear! But Eight20 does offer to use the ‘Flex’ app which actually is pretty useful! -DON’T WALK in the grass. Usually during winter because it so cold, nobody ever picks up after their dogs so you’ll see a lot of dog poop. But in all just don’t walk in the grass period! -If anything the biggest thing I had to HAAAATE about the stay was I had roaches for about a year. I’m a pretty cleansy person but I found out later that it was my neighbors that had first gotten it and it later got to me. I put out multiple request for extermination and honestly it took me using every trick in the book I could find to get rid of it myself and keep it so because their ‘extermination’ wasn’t showing obvious results after the first few months. Even leaving, my new neighbors who had just moved in, Aug2023, had said they had this problem. Overall, it wasn’t the worse. I did survive but certain things can definetly improve."
