Reviews of Ritz Classic Apartment Homes
"Package theft has gotten pretty bad and the office ignores all complaints and refuses to do anything about it. They don't use any security cameras so you're just screwed if something is stolen. Do not live here Update: they contacted me to set up a meeting to go over my options regarding the theft. Yet when I arrived at the office at the time specified there was a sign saying the office was closed until 2 PM. It was incredibly insulting."
"Amenities and apartments are okay. Staff in the office wont even accommodate you once youre living in it. Out of 10% being the highest, prob 4 percent they will answer calls. I dont know man! Ive been here for almost 5months now and you can never rely on the staff in the office they just keep trying to bring people in but they dont even cater you once you sign the lease lol. Nahhhh dont even try to live here. Its not even safe in the Summer. A lof of homeless people comes in."
"RAT CLASSIC I began my lease here in 2020, and I must warn potential renters to reconsider. Despite not being one to write reviews, I feel compelled to spare others the frustration I experienced—look for another place! Although the initially low prices may lure you in, the management’s incompetence, unprofessional conduct, the building’s lack of cleanliness, paper thin walls, and the perpetual chaos of street and garage parking will leave you pleading to relocate. I don’t expect you to take my word for it. The evidence lies within the building itself. While the leasing office area appears pleasant, the actual units you tour might be clean and smell good. However, when walking the halls, be prepared for a constant soundtrack of barking dogs (which persists day and night, if you work from home, be ready to cope with this). The repugnant odors emanating from neglected and overflowing trash rooms are unavoidable. I implore you to scrutinize the details during your tour—observe the exterior of the doors, often grimy and unkempt. Take a look at the windows; during my 36 months here, they were cleaned only once. Pay attention to the inside of the elevators for accumulating trash and crumbs. Moreover, I strongly advise examining the East side of the building (200 East). There, you’ll encounter overflowing dog waste receptacles and undoubtedly multiple residents smoking cigarettes near dead grass, litter-strewn sidewalks, and urine-soaked areas. Exercise caution around the outdoor benches; after sunset, they become a haven for potentially dangerous individuals who might break into parked cars during the night. I have attached some photos taken during my lease. Go elsewhere! you’ll be grateful to yourself later. It’s simply not worth the hassle!"
"6 months after moving out of the Ritz, I get a letting from a law office saying I owe $2400 from not paying my last month?! The ritz doesn't answer the phone and now I'm having to jump through hoops to not have to pay my last payment a 2nd time. Very poor management."
"Been here for a few months now so I feel like I can write a thorough review. I used google reviews when deciding to move here so I hope this can help people make an informed decision. Overall, a decent place to live, but I feel like I was baited & switched about a lot of things. The Apartments: Look nice, pretty well maintained, but a lot of the finishings are cheap when you look at them closely. The maintenance guy is great though, he's helped fix a few things for us already. Cost: I thought the price sounded great considering all of the amenities, but they weren't all as promised from my tour. I was a little surprised by all the fees so FYI, the current fees are $30 pet, $50/car if you want to park in the garage, and $95 required media package (cable + internet). Then add in $50 ish for gas + electric that you pay to Rocky Mountain/Dominion and $50 ish for water/trash that you pay to the Ritz separately from rent (this one wasn't really explained to us and we didn't actually get billed for it until our 3rd month living here so that was confusing). The application for paying your bill also sucks, if they offered you a discount at move-in, you can't use autopay, you have to go in & manually enter your rent amount every month, kind of inconvenient. Also if you want to use your credit card, it's like >$35 in fees per payment. Amenities/Building: Overall very clean. The lobby, lounge, halls, & gym are always spotless. The halls smell like weed all the time though. Packages are inconsistently delivered to your door. There are tons of signs saying that packages should not be left by the mailboxes, but there are packages on the floor there daily, I know a lot of people have problems with stolen packages. I wish they had a package locker system like the Zeller does down the street (there's an empty room in the NE corner here that would be perfect for it). The call boxes here sound great because they can call your cell, but it takes multiple tries to buzz people in, you can't hear people when they call, and the number assigned to you doesn't match your apartment number. The espresso machine in the lounge is great, always working, & usually clean. On my tour though they told me there are always snacks & drinks in the lounge for us, but I haven't seen anything there since. Not a huge deal at all, just don't tell me something if it's not true. Haven't gotten to use the pool or tiny hot tub yet. The pool is only open in the summertime, but the hot tub is year-round. They look fine, but not nearly as nice as the Zeller's which is huge/beautiful & open year-round. "Dog Friendly": One of the big selling points for us was that this place was so dog friendly. There's a great dog wash, two off-leash dog pens, and lots of poop bags everywhere. Unfortunately, there's dog poo everywhere which makes the dog playpens unusable sometimes. I wish owners would just pick up their poop, but they don't even with free bags. I emailed management to talk about how dirty the play area was and they responded to me with a blatant lie saying they clean the pen daily. Any dog owner could tell you that's BS. I don't expect them to clean it daily, but just don't lie to me. Then they said they can't clean it when it's below 45F because it's below freezing so they can't powerwash it. 32F is freezing so idk where they got that from, but either way, you can still have someone come pick up the poo that's been sitting here for weeks. Since learning this, I've paid attention and noted multiple days when it was in the '60-'70s when the pen was not cleaned. The duty has fallen on other dog owners to sit around and pick up random dog poo while their dogs play. And that's all fine, but the pen still smells like pee & turns snow dark yellow because it's so saturated (it's turf so it doesn't drain well). They told me on my tour it has some kind of special drainage system & is sprayed daily with enzymes to keep it clean, but I've learned otherwise. Not the worst place, but I wish I had gone with the Zeller (their rooftop grills look amazing)"
