Reviews of Eaglewood Lofts
"we are paying with rental prices. When we moved in there was a new management that took over that day. They are nice, but make sure you set an expectation for communication. They lack effort and consistency. I hate that we had to kinda be rude and get some answers and help. It may be a lack of communication to eachother in the property management and staff. The maintenance staff seems nice as well or at least I think it was the head of their maintenance team. They don't seem to keep a record of what they need to do. They seem very disorganized. I really want to leave a great review and recommend people living here, but it may need to wait until the management can pull their stuff together a bit more. Update: things seem to be going a little bit smoother. I appreciate the help we've gotten. Hopefully over time as we're here things will improve much more."
"I don't like posting negative reviews, but I wish someone had done this before moving to Utah and trusting reviews as well as the website. Currently, we are 6 months into our lease and though Eaglewood has recently seen a management change, little seems to have been affected. I see a history of Eaglewood responding to the Google reviews, but they don't seem to have been historically genuine about their responses for change. We are already looking for where we will sign our next leasing contract. First and foremost: these are NOT luxury apartments! We know what good looks like, and for our apartment to not have been move-in ready on our lease date with ZERO apologies or compensation was extremely disappointing and far from professional. And being woken in the early morning hours within weeks of moving in to numerous gunshots in the apartment complex is a far cry from luxury. NOT Eaglewood's fault, but the pond next door isn't maintained by the city - and it is a mosquito breeding ground. It has seen a minor facelift recently, but at one point there was a large, bloated animal carcass floating in it. Then again, the large swampy grassy area near the playground could also be said mosquito breeding ground. There is dog crap everywhere and the trash cans for dog waste are frequently overflowing - particularly the one near the children's play area. The potential for any number of diseases is prolific, and the number of pets NOT on leashes is astounding. I'm surprised I haven't heard of any individuals or animals being hurt. The dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes, the washing machine ruins clothes, and the garbage disposal just makes the bits small enough to clog the adjacent sink. That doesn't include the gurgling we get in our kitchen sink that releases ungodly smells into our kitchen. I called for service shortly after moving in, but had to clean the p-trap myself to get our sink to drain within a couple of days. And the "valet" trash only comes Monday through Friday, which I guess is fine if you work weekends, but if you don't, you're paying for a service you will not be receiving. The pool/spa/gym areas are seldom available and tenants are consistently blamed for the damage and thus justifying the lack of upkeep. It took around 6 months for them to fix the "mail room" door (I am assuming it was broken near our move-in date), and even though we subscribed for the "Parcel Pending" service that Eaglewood demands, we've had more than a couple go missing because there are far from enough lockers to service the number of tenants in the complex. I can get more than a couple packages in a day and a couple will be in the lockers and others just dumped on the floor of this locker room like discarded trash. Tenants are being punished because Eaglewood didn't have the foresight to build a larger parcel room for package delivery, when there is an Amazon DC literally minutes away. It is touted as a "smoke free" community, but we regularly get smoke of both the legal and illegal variety in our bedroom and master bath. The response was to investigate a single time, and then on later complaints post a letter reminding tenants of the policy. The behavior persists, and last email has gone without a response since December. We kindly asked the smoker to stop (immediately beneath us) - as any reasonable adult would do, but we were met with swearing. The smoke-free community was a major deciding point for us, and to be met with minimal support from leasing and management staff and a continued violation from our downstairs neighbor and the smoke-free contract they signed is disappointing to say the least. If they refuse to enforce this part of the contract, what grounds do they have to enforce other aspects of the contract? Can I pick and choose what aspects of the contract I follow like our downstairs neighbor?"
"The ABSOLUTE worst place I have ever lived. If you don’t read these reviews before you move in you are making a mistake. EagleWood lofts appeared to be a very nice place, spacious, with good amenities. The cost also appeared to be decent. Once I moved in I received my first months rent. My base rent for a 2bed 2bath was $1569 a month. After all their bs fees my rent was approximately $2100. I was stuck here in a 13 month lease paying well over what I agreed to. The pool and spa was always shut down by the health department. The gym was small and always had broken equipment that would never get fixed. There were huge cockroaches in the garages and around the complex. But the worst of all was maintenance! We had a company painting the hallways and doors of the apartments. Maintenance felt it was completely fine to give everyone’s keys to these random painters. I came home from work with my door propped open and nobody around. When I confronted staff they said they didn’t have the keys. It is against policy to allow anyone other than staff into your apartment. Another time maintenance decided to switch out weather stripping on the door. They locked me out of my apartment and jammed the door. They keypad and they key would not work. When I called management they said they wouldn’t help me without proof I lived there. All my proof was inside my apartment they locked me out of without notice. I could go on all day. Moral of the story. Nobody should live here."
"Eaglewood Lofts has been one of the best apartments that I have rented. Our children love the pool and hot tubs. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Overall, it's been a great experience."
"I understand that things happen, but it is in the way that it’s handled that a company gains their integrity. That being said, Eaglewood Lofts does not rectify situations that happen under their management. I would choose to live elsewhere if you have the chance. They grab you with a nice low rent but when our first lease was up after 11 months, they raised our rent $400 dollars. Yes, $400. We also had cockroaches, multiple times and each time their response was “Pest control will be there Wednesday” there was never any note saying they came - so who knows if it did. We also had our fridge go out and it took 4 days to get a new one. They didn’t reimburse us for all of the food we lost and when it arrived it had a huge dent in the front. We ultimately decided we did not want to stay in a place that so blatantly ignored their tenants. They also never responded with an answer as to what they used our deposit for. I’m leaving this for those of you who think that they have good pricing and it will stay that way. The management takes DAYS to respond and “apparently the manager” made false promises and expectations. I hope this helps someone! Pictures shown of the things we dealt with (including the grassy area that basically was a pond of water)"
