Reviews of Sunset Vista Manufactured Home Community
"Don't move into this community. - The rent continually increases, sometimes 2 times a year, while nothing is done for the improvement of the grounds. Sure, you're drawn in by advertisements of $500/mo rent for the lot, (plus whatever your mortgage is) but within 3-5 years, that lot rent will double. - The playground is outdated and the yard surrounding it is full of dog crap and graffiti. - You'll get notices to clean off your porch, even if there are only chairs on the porch. - You'll also be given notices to take care of weeding while there are 4-6 inches of snow on the ground. - Adding to this, if the trim of your house becomes damaged due to the constant high speed winds, you'll receive notice to fix it with a 1 week deadline...meaning you'll need to come up with the thousands of dollars worth of labor and materials to fix the damage within a week. - When it snows, plowing the roadways isn't a priority for this community. I've had to call out from work on more than one occasion because I couldn't even get out of the driveway. Sometimes it takes days for a plow to come through even once. - The swimming pool is a huge disappointment. There is no shade by the pool, if it even opens on time or at all. I'm not sure why they post a pool schedule they won't adhere to. - The clubhouse used to be free for use for residents, while now it costs $50 plus a $200 (refundable) deposit. - If you want to paint your home that you own, (not the company), you must get the color approved. - If you want to install a fence/gate to keep the stray dogs from using your yard as a toilet, that can be done if you're fortunate enough that it gets approved. The only redeeming thing giving this rating any star at all is the safety from criminal activity in this community. Cars can be unlocked overnight without being broken into, yard decorations don't get vandalized or stolen, etc."
"A great community nestled between 8400 west and the Oquirrh Mountains."
"It's a community of wonderful people who keep an eye on and help each other out."
"This is a very dilapidated community, I can't wait until I can convince my Mom to move out and never look back. The roads are terrible and the playground had needles."
"Over priced for what you get & racks up more each year. As for the amenities they charge you for; - The playground is over 20 years old, broken, written all over & doesn't even have a bench to sit on. It's the same one from when I was a kid. - The pool is "open" Tues-Sunday 10-8 but it's often open late. Sometimes it's 30mins late, Sometimes 4/5hrs late, sometimes it's closed all day with no warning. There's often children (not teens) unattended during opening hours with no lifeguard on duty. - The tennis court/basket ball area is old, the ground speaks for itself. The hoops are weathered. - the Pavillion is dirty but gets the job done, a place to sit outside or rent. - The club house is okay. Nothing fancy no real complaints. Straight forward."
