"Don't use PODS! They screwed me out of $9k by refusing to get weight tickets despite their knowledge that it was a military move. Anybody who works for a moving company knows this is a requirement for military move reimbursement UPDATE March 18th I was referred to the legal department, who claims they listened to the recordings, and further refusing to help, claiming that the recordings are their proprietary files (my word against theirs). They told me they would release them to me only with a court subpoena, so I can't recover my damages without getting a lawyer involved, thereby canceling out anything I'd recover. "I utilized PODS for a business-related move and regret to report a negative experience. Initially, the service was commendable with efficient pickup and transit. However, the final pickup phase was fraught with issues, including poor communication and scheduling mishaps. Despite explicit instructions, the driver arrived unexpectedly and failed to comply with protocol, leading to an unwarranted pickup cancellation. Moreover, customer support was unhelpful, suggesting impractical solutions and attributing blame incorrectly. This experience painted a picture of a company habituated to dealing with dissatisfied customers, indicating systemic service failures."
"Overall, I would rate pods company a four out of five mostly because my stuff was delivered safely and promptly when they were supposed to. However, the initial customer service contact was not up to par. I wasn’t told about permit issues until the pod was already ordered, which caused me to have to delay my pod so that I can take care of permit issues first"
"Property Damage - Hit and Run (non-customer experience) I'm sharing my awful experience with PODS Moving and Storage. The PODS driver, attempting a delivery to our neighbor, entered our property without permission. Their equipment caused significant structural damage to our garage, along with scraped concrete and damaged landscaping. Both the PODS employee and the customer witnessed the incident, yet neither bothered to contact us. Our security cameras captured the damage caused by the PODS equipment. Despite clear evidence and verbal acknowledgment, the company denied our claim for the $3700 property damage. This unprofessional and unethical conduct is negligence. The damage incurred, followed by inspecting the damage, and then deliberate retreating from our property without attempted notification is unacceptable (and involves potential criminal behavior per Colorado law). I caution anyone considering PODS to be wary of their unethical practices and disregard for innocent non-customers."
"For your own sake, please don’t give PODS any of your business. They’re a shady company and will lie to you and then try to cover their tracks. I recently spent the extra money to use PODS as they were the only moving company that could give me a favorable “guaranteed” delivery date. My POD was delivered to my property, loaded, then scheduled for pickup. However when it came time to pick it up, for whatever reason it was canceled. When I called the customer service agent, they originally said that their warehouse was closed, and pickup was unavailable on that date. He then called the warehouse and they were in fact open, and that someone at the warehouse had canceled my pickup. The next available pickup date was a few days later, which when combined with the holidays, pushed my delivery date two weeks later than my “guaranteed” delivery date. The customer service agent apologized for the large delay, and explained that he’s never seen the warehouse cancel pickup and refunded me my nearly $2,000 transportation fee for the move. Seems cool right? Well here we are today, and my refund was canceled. Their internal investigation team determined that I “rescheduled the pickup for the later date”. This is true, only because YOUR warehouse canceled the original on me so I was forced to reschedule. When I was able to provide them with the voicemail from their warehouse of them canceling my pickup their story changed to “you scheduled your pickup on a date that wasn’t available”. Again, this isn’t my problem that your system allowed me to schedule it on that date. I am still currently going through the process of getting this corrected, but it isn’t looking too good. Another note, I feel that there is serious negligence/fraud on their end. I have received email notifications from PODS numerous times about changes to my account, without any explanation. The most recent I got was that my email was changed an hour after calling up and disputing my refund. I now no longer have access to my account and can’t go back in and see my documents, which I believe was done on purpose."
