"Love our granite from UVG!! Walter and Antonio were great to work with. Beautiful counter tops and great price. Will be using them again in the future!"
"Great prices and great looking countertops! They are super busy all the time, but they will make sure everything is right. It was my first time redoing a kitchen and I didn’t know what to look for when inspecting the countertops when they were done installing the countertops. They looked great when I inspected them, so I paid Antonio before they left. Later that night, my wife and I noticed the countertops on the left side of the range were overhanging 3/4” to 1” more than the right side countertops. I contacted the owner, Walter, and he said they would make it right. I called Antonio multiple times within a couple of weeks to schedule a time for them to come by and fix it. Walter is extremely busy but was able to have Antonio swing by and fix the overhang. After watching how Antonio fixed it, it was super easy that I could have easily done it myself. I can’t speak for other people, but as for my experience, Utah Valley Granite will do their best to make things right. They are extremely busy all the time. I was a little worried, at first, that I was getting screwed over because of some of the previous reviews I read about, so I was probably annoying to Walter calling him a bunch, but Walter and Antonio are good guys and did a great job. I will be ordering countertops for my laundry/pantry room next year. Utah Valley Granite has great prices and worth the wait. Be patient and be flexible. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the countertops and our experience working with Walter and Antonio. It was a little irritating with all the promises the owner, Walter, made to us (how soon they can make a template, install it, fixing it), but in the end, when everything‘s all said and done, you’ll have a nice countertop for a really good price. To those that think I’m too picky about the countertop overhang, if you would’ve saw it, You would be too. I can see how and why they overlooked it, but it was completely noticeable if they were not in so much of a rush. I’m glad that everything is fixed now and everything looks great. There is one other imperfection that I’ll just have to live with, because I didn’t mention to Antonio or Walter and it’s not that big of a deal, I guess. After reading a lot of the posts and reviews, most people seem to be impatient and not understanding how busy Utah Valley Granite is. It makes sense what Walter told me, it’s very hard to find good quality workers these days. Antonio is a really good hearted person and an extremely hard worker. He is amazing! Walter, the owner, I think he said he’s from Italy and Boston. This would explain his “abrasive” personality. Walter is a good guy, as well, but it might be hard to understand and see it if you have never met an Italian or Boston and you’re only used to people from Utah. So be understanding, be patient, Be positive. Utah Valley Granite is super busy all the time. You’ll get a good product, Don’t worry."
"Wow! OK, so Utah Valley Granite is old school. Took pictures and measurements into Walter, gave us a cash price. Boom. Cut, Install, Take-away, Clean up. Actually put the sinks in as well (not the plumbing of course). His crew came out for measurements, next day putting in some beautiful marble with A+ craftsmanship. Antonio was the crew chief, and boy were these guys professional. So, a word about Walter. Old School. What I mean is, he is going to give you a deal based on cash. Cash means cash. Not check. If you are uncomfortable with a wholesaler like this, look elsewhere. No frills in the sales or shopping experience. We actually were able to find a remnant piece that met our needs...beautiful slabs over there. I would recommend, but don't expect an RC Wiley experience...you are getting a discount/deal. We are VERY pleased with the results."
"I’ve worked with Walter on several jobs. His prices and options are the best in Utah. The guy is very busy and does a lot of jobs. If your someone who is impatient and needs work done immediately don’t bug Walter go else where. He’s too busy. But if you want top pick, amazing pricing, good install, and can wait. (Not months... sometimes he’s right on time, sometimes he’s been way early. All depends on his work load.) He’s your guy!"
"STAY AWAY! Walter is unethical, dishonest, and his workmanship is terrible. I was forced to sue him due to his poor workmanship, repeated mistakes, and refusal to correct them. My wife and I spent weeks trying to find the right piece of granite for our countertops and fireplace hearth. After looking through hundreds of pieces at multiple places, we finally found the color and pattern we were looking for at Utah Valley Granite. Walter at Utah Valley Granite had two pieces that were very heavily veined and were just what we had been looking for. The only concern I had was the veining lining up at the seam, because our countertop is wider than a slab of granite is long. We had the cabinet and fireplace plans with us and showed them to Walter. Walter used a white grease pencil to show us (as he extolled his stone cutting skills) exactly how he would cut the slab to make certain the veining lined up. After considerable conversation and a price quote for the countertops and the hearth, we gave Walter a down payment. Installation day came, but when the installers left, my wife noticed that Walter had cut the sink five inches off-center. When Walter was informed of the mistake, he immediately blamed the project manager, but he said he would cut a new piece to correct the problem. He also said he would cut the hearth for nothing. This statement confused me; by this time, I had already paid Walter in full, including for the hearth. After several missed appointments for the repair (and for which I missed work), the installers finally installed the newly cut piece for the countertop and the fireplace hearth. The veins of the new piece run 90 degrees to the rest of the countertop (see photo below) The hearth was also cut ¾ of an inch short. Apparently, Walter’s stone cutting skills aren’t what he lead us to believe. As the installers were leaving, they asked my wife for $800.00 for the hearth. She politely declined. When I confronted Walter about this latest mistake, he became very abusive, blamed the project manager again, called me names, and physically threatened the project manager. He refused to talk any further with me. My only recourse was to sue Walter/Utah Valley Granite. Of course, as his installers had repeatedly failed to make pre-arranged installation dates, Walter failed to show up to court, twice. Now I’m left to hire a collection agency or attorney. I have many more photos, screenshots of abusive text messages, and court records. If Walter disputes any of my assertions, I will post them as well."
