"I have been able to meet with both Shawn and Christian over the years. They are both great. Both very caring. I am happy I get to see them."
"Dr. Monson is probably the most intelligent person I have had the privilege to know. I’ve been seeing him consistently for upwards of 6 years and he has completely changed my life. I would recommend him to anyone struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma. Not only is he factually smart, but I believe he is intuitive to the needs of others. Christine at the front is very helpful, professional, and always returns my calls promptly. The environment of the front lobby is extremely peaceful and quiet. Absolutely no complaints. If you are seeking therapy, I would start at Solstice Counseling."
"I have thought long and hard about wither or not to post a review here regarding my experience with Dr. Miller. The only reason I have decided to post this review is that I wish someone else had posted something like this prior to our seeking help at Solstice Counceling. I began bringing one of my children here in January, for anxiety, depression, and other behavioral issues stemming from these conditions. We started seeing Dr. Monson but had to switch to Dr. Miller after a few weeks for insurance reasons. I continued bringing my child I over the next few months for weekly appointments. After months of therapy the court and I both requested an update letter be sent to the court for a review and update for an open case involving this child. At the court hearing some information was not discussed in the child's presence on purpose in order to preserve the relationship of trust between the child and Dr. Miller. This fact was conveyed to Dr. Miller via email. At the next appointment Dr. Miller disclosed the compromising information to the child defeating the efforts of the court. Dr. Miller then explained to me that he had to write that letter after coming back from a vacation and that he would be charging me his 180.00 per hour rate for the time he spent on it. He billed me over 40.00 for a short 2 paragraph update letter. I was not happy about this but paid it without complaint. At the next visit Dr. Miller asked me to sit down with him and discuss the matter of billing. The next 45 minutes of my child's one hour therapy visit was spent talking about concerns I had about Dr. Miller's billing practices and information disclosed to the child during the last visit. At the conclusion of this visit I told Dr. Miller that I did not want to set my child's progress back by changing therapists, and that if that meant paying extra for the occasional update letter, so be it. The next visit Dr. Miller asked me to pay prior to the session. He then asked me to come in to the therapy session at the end and told me that he had informed my child that he would no longer be his therapist due to a disagreement that I had with him. He then gave me a list of other therapists in the area and declined to offer us services any longer. In my opinion Dr. Miller's actions were very unprofessional, and set my child's progress back quite substantially not to mention the time and resources that were spent at Solstice counceling. I did leave Dr Monson a message requesting that he give me a call in the hopes that he would see my child but he would not return my call. I cannot recommend solstice counceling as an option for therapy. On a positive note, my child has begun therapy elsewhere and is progressing substantially faster and with far better results."
"I was referred to Dr. Shawn Miller from family friends who spoke very highly of their experience. I have been attending weekly sessions with him. Shawn is extremely kind and helpful. He genuinely cares about his clients. I would recommend Dr. Miller."
"Christian is good, but they're sticklers about the cancelation fee if less than 1 day."
