"Dr. Monson has been, without a doubt, the biggest part of my healing through a time when I wasn't sure I could still put one foot in front of the other. Rather than keeping me dependent on him, he taught me skills and directed me to resources that would all allow me to eventually continue my process on my own. When I became strong enough and had the tools I needed to continue, he recognized that fact and supported me in my decision to move forward on my own and begin to "wean off" of therapy. I know if or when I need some extra support or guidance again, he will be able to support me and help me build the structure I need to continue independently as the ultimate goal. Dr. Monson has also supported my son through this difficult time, and has been the only person able to reach my son and to help him feel comfortable enough to open up, and to begin to accept where's he's at and commit to moving forward and finding peace in his life.
