"I'm a professional patient here with years of experiencing providers for therapy. As someone who is going through some serious issues, I cannot recommend Sutton Counseling for telemedicine. I am not a person who enjoys leaving a negative review; however, mental health is important! Sutton Counseling provided me with two therapists via telemedicine. The expectations are that therapy is a patient oriented profession and that it's therapeutic. The two therapists I had worked from home and there were several personal interruptions by the first therapist; however, during my last encounter with the first therapist, after the many interruptions which I had overlooked during the course of the previous three sessions, the frequent interruptions had escalated to me being put on hold during my paid for hour. The second therapist I attempted to work with, I heard blood curdling screaming during her introduction to me and her demeanor became immediately anxious and she then treated me as though she was simply dealing with me and acted as though she was rushing like an auctioneer. I couldn't bring myself to continue the session after being pitched to for twenty minutes during my designated and expensive hour, on my own dime, about other services in which I didn't request nor express interest. The information she provided about other services could have easily been emailed to me for free, not overwhelmingly delivered to me verbally during my attempted session. I also couldn't bring myself to talk at all after the trigger of the screaming and her demeanor, either. I felt as though she was trying to push me off onto someone else and I ended the session, even though I really needed to talk to someone. With both therapists, I really felt unimportant during the existential crisis known as dealing with and recovering from cancer. These expensive encounters weren't patient oriented, professional, nor were they therapeutic. I expressed my disappointment and concerns to the administration of Sutton Counseling and was issued a refund of my co-pay for the final session and an apology which is decent after wasting my time. I've been trying Sutton Counseling since October and have to seek out another franchise now and am back to square one. I can't speak for other services offered by Sutton Counseling; although, I've read the reviews on the other services and recommend you do the same."
"I want to start by emphasizing we've had AMAZING experiences with some INCREDIBLE staff members. However, we are still struggling with shock, disappointment, and frustration with staff double booking therapists when a client is doing neurofeedback (without getting prior consent from the client/guardian). Having gone for several years to another provider who does things very differently, I can't overstate just how much this deprives the patients of. Furthermore, both patients are also still charged the full session price. Yes, you can ask that they not double book your therapist during your or your child's slot, but I'm flabbergasted that anyone would ever have to do that. We also have other concerns that we're trying to look past/work through, but at the very least I, for multiple reasons, would definitely never recommend anyone go here for neurofeedback."
"What a great therapy office. They utilize all the best techniques. I've gone to therapy all my life and this office is amazing. I run a nonprofit for suicide prevention. I am thrilled to have such a great office to refer to. I also have a Wellness Center that doe not provide therapy but refers out as well. I'm sitting here now. Every person who has entered is greeted by first name. It's that friendliness that keeps people coming and their effective therapeutic tools."
"Great experience. I learned things about myself that help me understand why I've struggled for 40 years. I now feel empowered to adapt to my challenges and become my best."
"Addy was amazing. But she left. My wife's primary insurance was being difficult. It took a couple weeks to resolve, but we got it taken care of. After that was resolved, Sutton's receptionist/scheduler (Debby?) was incredibly rude to my wife. She was unhelpful and essentially told her to find someone else. What a terrible thing to do to someone looking for a therapist. Thanks for causing her even more anxiety."
