"I agree with the reviews that state they care more about the money than the people. I’ve never had a harder time getting into anyone and feel after several sessions that were few and far between, I walked away from the sessions feeling as if nothing was given to me to help deal with the trauma I had experienced. They were quick to get your copay and get you out of there. They could only get me in at times once a month. This is not helpful when dealing with the traumatic loss of a loved one. I do not recommend this counselor. I have never given a bad review EVER and have hardly done reviews but feel this needs to be said for people looking for help."
"Terrible experience!! They definitely care more about the money than they do helping others. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt despite reading pervious reviews, but the previous negative reviews fit into our experience. There was an issue with our EAP that I was unaware of for 2 weeks. Once I was notified about it, I was given the deadline of 5pm that day or else they would cancel our upcoming appointment (2 weeks away). I was able to contact my EAP (after 5 because I work and was unable to do it during working hours). The next morning I had everything sorted out and ALL of the papers and numbers they asked for the day before. Rosa refused to acknowledge I had the information and said that her and Maryann wouldn't work with us despite having everything they had asked for the day before. They had my card on file, health insurance, and EAP information but still questioned how they were going to get paid. Never once asking how things were with my child."
"My employers employee assistance program paid for the first six visits with this Maryann for my stepson. After that my insurance would have picked it up and I would have had a copay. My stepson went to three visits and then we were informed that there was a client emergency and they had to cancel our next session. She told us she would call us and reschedule. So, we waited. After six weeks of hearing nothing I finally decided to contact them and was told that our authorization expires in three weeks and they had no open sessions before then. My question is, how did they forget about us? Why didn’t the therapist ask the receptionist “whatever happened to that little boy that we canceled on who had been coming here?“ So now I have to go explain how I didn’t get all my 6 visits to my EAP and get another authorization. I have to jump through all those hoops and paperwork with my employer again. This time I think I’ll just find a more professional organization that will remember who sees their therapist."
"I began seeing Maryanne last December. I've had a few sessions with her so far this year but yesterday morning I woke up to an alert from my bank for incurring an overdraft fee of $35. I saw that Maryanne had charged me $87 out of nowhere, with no notice or explanation so I reached out to see what happened as I assumed it was just a mistake; a mistake that now left me in the red. When I reached out, her receptionist informed me that it was an outstanding balance due to my deductible restarting for the year that they hadn't been charging me for during my last 3 appointments. So, they made several mistakes by not charging me correctly at the time of the service and because of this, I was being penalized. I asked the receptionist for an itemized bill showing my payments vs the insurance and she refused and told me she could only give me a receipt for the $87 which is entirely unhelpful. I asked her for a copy of the EOB she was referring to and she refused that as well. So - again, having to take the initiative on my own to figure out what the heck was going on - I reached out to my insurance and found out that not only was Maryanne and her receptionist incorrect about my deductible, they hadn't even submitted my previous weeks appointment to my insurance yet. The receptionist still has yet to submit this final appointment to my insurance and has yet to give me an itemized bill. Maryanne knows that I live on a fixed income. I have to budget everything down to the last dollar. Neither her nor her receptionist had any empathy or answers other than "oh well that sucks" for causing me to incur an overdraft fee on my account. Neither one of them could practice even the most basic communication skills by reaching out to me through text, email, or phone to give me a heads up about this charge so that I could make arrangements. They're hiding their predatory behavior behind an agreement I signed which states that they can charge me for appointments or missed appointments, which I paid for at the time of service every single time. They argue that because I signed that, they have no obligation to warn me or even notify me about charges they make to my account even when it is THEIR fault. Essentially, they believe they can charge my account whenever they feel like it and they don't have to tell me why or tell me about it at all. I'd just have to keep my eyes on my bank account daily to make sure they didn't take more money out of it. After all of this I've been charged too much by Maryanne, I've incurred an overdraft fee and my bank account is in the negatives now, and I've lost a therapist who I entrusted with not only my banking information, but my personal information. I feel betrayed and surprised at the lack of basic communication skills and empathy coming from Maryanne and her receptionist. You would think those things would be essential in this business. If you want to be paranoid about what your therapist might be charging to your bank account without your knowledge on a daily basis, and you LOVE playing detective with them to try and figure out what is going on, then this is the therapist for you. Bonus if you enjoy lack of communication and empathy from their staff. Otherwise, steer clear."
"She has been good for me & my sister. She's understanding & practical. She explains theories & reasons but for doing what she feels is best. She knows her stuff & has different approaches like the EMDR which gives me more hope that recovery is possible."
