"NH is a very helpful place, as someone who was a student there the worst part was your peers. Many other student like to deflect their problems and trauma by saying this place is terrible and abusive when in reality its neither. In the end they just didnt know how to handle structure and not getting away with whatever they wanted. Almost every hate comment are from students who got pulled and never healed completely. Many stories are twisted to make the student seem innocent and the staff seem like the bad guy, ive seen it so many times first hand. The staff were so kind and helped me in so many ways. New Haven not only kept me alive but reminded me what it felt like to live. Ive been to other treatment centers and this one is by far the best."

"I successfully transitioned at New Haven after 11 months. The program was life changing for my family and has helped us a lot. Obviously treatment isn't sunshine and rainbows but I did enjoy my time there. I made great connections with my peers and continue to talk to them post New Haven. The staff are amazing and so supportive. I loved always having someone to talk to. They are empathetic, kind, and welcoming individuals who truly care about the students. I also valued the education I received while at New Haven. The teachers accommodate the students while still maintaining a "normal" school environment. It was the hardest thing I ever did but the most rewarding. I am forever grateful for all the connections I made and all the amazing people who supported me throughout my journey."

"Choosing the right school for your student is difficult, and more so when there is a therapeutic need. Our daughter was always bright and enjoyed learning so we wanted to find a school that could challenge her and help her to continue to excel as she got the therapeutic help she needed to succeed in the days ahead. The teachers and faculty there are amazing. They care deeply for each student and provide excellence in academics. The learning environment is truly unique and allows for individuation and fun, while still challenging the students to excel. After her graduation our daughter got into the college of her choice and tested into all the classes she needed for the premed track. Our daughter keeps up with several of the teachers there and they are lifelong friends and mentors. I couldn’t recommend New Haven more highly. "New Haven changed our lives. I have nothing but the best to say about this treatment center. They provide help and hope for the entire family system. They taught our daughter the skills she needed to be healthy again and to know how to deal with the hard times withiut falling apart. Self harm was a huge struggle for my daughter and I am happy to say that self harm is in her past. They also taught me how to support my daughter in ways that would bring about healthy change. As a parent I grew confident that I had the tools I needed for long term change. I saw my daughter grow into a confident girl who looked forward to her future not the girls who thought she would never make it to her 21 birthday. When Abbey was at New Haven it was the first time in a couple years that I could lay my head down on my pillow at night and know she would be safe and that we had hope for the future. The struggles our daughters was going though wasn’t a “Abbey” problem it involved the entire family. Everyone must participate not just your daughter. Expect to do some hard but rewarding work. By supporting the family this is what brings about the long term change when your daughter comes home. I am wiring this review now beciase we are seven years post treatment and Abbey is thriving. Now that doesn’t mean we don’t have tough times like all people do in life but she and our family are now equipped to handel the hard things. If you are looking for a place of safely, peace and change New Haven is the place to go."
