"Tammi Jo (owner of Got Dirt) came to my home to do an estimate for a bi-weekly recurring cleaning. She was very thorough and went on and on about how detailed her employees are. I told her that if I accepted her bid I would need her to start the following week and she said ok. She gave me her bid with a long, detailed list of everything that would be cleaned. Her bid was very reasonable and I called and hired her a few days later. She said they could start in 2 weeks. I reminded her of our agreement of when I needed them to start and if she could accommodate I'd appreciate it (we had two sets of guests coming at the end of the week). She said she was short-staffed but that it would work. A woman showed up to clean about 20 minutes late with very few cleaning supplies. I was concerned with how long it would take just one person to clean. The previous company I had, took 4-5 hours for two ladies to clean every other week. When Tammi Jo let me know the cleaning was done only 3 1/2 hours later I knew right then that the job was not done well. I got home after the lady had left and it was like my home wasn't even touched except for some vacuum lines on the carpet. The wood floors on my main floor had only been swept in the middle. Dirt was all along the edges still, under the dining table, and under the rugs. My home security system revealed that the lady didn't even move the rugs! She swept AROUND them. Even my 9 year old knows to move the rugs and shake them out! She also did not mop. Everything on my kitchen counters was wiped around, nothing was moved and wiped under as Tammi described in her bid. The cabinet fronts were not wiped. The barstools and dining chairs were not cleaned. After walking around my house I found that she only dusted about 1/4 of what needed to be done. The areas behind the faucets in my bathrooms were not wiped either. My stairs were not vacuumed. The baseboards and the blinds were not dusted. The kitchen trash was not taken out either. All of these issues were things that were discussed during the estimate and I was told they would be cleaned. Thank goodness I forgot to leave a check for her! Here is the worst part. I called and left a voicemail to let Tammi know what happened then texted her pictures of the mess. SIX HOURS later I get a response that says "This is the first time we cleaned for you and we tried our best to please you under our unforeseen circumstances of being short employees this week. For the size of your house and the complaints I feel the employee did okay being by herself. I'm sorry you were unhappy with her work." She made excuses?!? The horrible cleaning job had absolutely nothing to do with them being short staffed. The lady they sent DID NOT CLEAN WELL. Simple as that. There is absolutely no excuse for not picking up throw rugs, not dusting everything, and not doing a thorough job. She made excuses for the careless cleaning job and put the blame on me for needing them to come this week. This was not a matter of me being overly demanding or picky. It was a matter of a job being done poorly and in NO WAY like what was agreed upon when the estimate was given. It is bad business practice to send someone out to do a job that she was not 100% capable of doing. Instead of trying to make it right, she told me I didn't have to pay her and that I needed to find another company that I would be happy with. Do not hire them if you want your home cleaned by an honest, hardworking company."
