Reviews of Novastar Family Medical
"Everyone is gray feel safe when I’m there and I love the hospitality"
"Let me start by saying I didn’t want to do this but I won’t allow people to think what’s being done here & other clinics is ok you established yourself within our community & stated it was to uplift our community I personally have felt nor seen any of that from my first experience Natalie was nice & professional but rushed & personally web Md did more of the work than her working knowledge or experience did i didn’t really understand nor feel safe with extra Security measures if your nervous or scared why are you in this community ou or osu doesn’t lock their doors or us inside I called here 5 times after my initial visit & while my issues are major I was t expecting a solution overnight I was expecting someone to care I came here 128 pounds I’m now 124 it’s been 2 months roughly I was prescribed meds with no follow up on how they effect my body which was major I called to request a tele health never presented the option just told she would call back I was sent in a referral no follow ups of which I was never seen I have pain everyday & maternal mortality is taking us out & you as a black woman within our community could care less & im speaking from my experience & if you couldn’t help me I would have appreciated your honesty more than ignoring me & I don’t want you to reach out or follow up just be a better white coat wearer or get out our community with the nonsense and I came here from west view which they all nice but no better medically being nice isn’t helpful when your in pain everyday with no explanations"
"Great provider, tends to the root of issues and makes her diagnosis patient specific instead of following the cookie cutter common prognosis. Natalie Will not just symptom treat but tends to underlying issue for overall betterment of the patient. Love my Novastar experience."
"Natalie is a doctor that will hear you, she shows so much care and passion by making every visit comfortable and understanding. She accommodates to your needs as an individual and takes the time to understand every detail of your body to make sure you get the best treatment and have a healthier and happy lifestyle. I recommend her often as someone that has had a lot of medical maltreatment in my life and have heard others that experienced the same far too often, she’s a breath of fresh air."
"I am so disappointed in my experience visiting Natalie Jones. Like many of you, I searched hard and long to find what I thought would be the best provider for myself being a black woman in today’s healthcare system. First, let me just say that Natalie was nice enough, but that alone isn’t enough. She failed to listen. Our visit took all of 5 minutes, if that. I have never felt so rushed! It’s as if she looked at the piece of paper I handed her, saw the word “Hypertension”, and immediately grouped me with every other patient. She instantly started to prescribe me not one, but THREE new bp medications. I was shocked! I told her that I did not come expecting to get on new meds and then she took my bp with a manual cuff and claimed in was 140/100. I told her that I had not had a number like that since the day I had my C-Section 7 months ago, and that if it was in fact that high then it could be from the stress of me rushing to get there that day and she insisted that the bottom number wouldn’t be that high due to stress. Like what??! Then after I had intentionally stated that I breast feed my twins, she started prescribing drugs without even checking to see if I could take them while breastfeeding. I had to ask her if they were safe. Her exact response was, “all of my patients with high blood pressure are on Lisinopril”. That’s when I knew that she wasn’t considering me as an individual at all. She gave me a speech about high blood pressure being hereditary and about how black people think they don’t need meds. Mind you, I’m already on one medication that I’ve been on since my hypertension started after my C-Section that day. I tried to explain that to her but she wasn’t listening. Who in their right mind will prescribe someone three new medications off of one reading? Listen, I know that most people don’t do their own research, but I don’t play when it comes to things like this. I had already made up in my mind that she was lying about the 140/100 and that I wouldn’t be taking any of those medications. When I got home I immediately checked my blood pressure and it was 123/76. Sounds to me like she’s making her money pushing pills and as a black woman, I definitely expected more from her. I’m not saying she’s not great with other issues. I can only go by my experience. I will never visit her again. She even told me that many people are having terrible allergic reactions to Lisinopril, but then why would you try to prescribe that to me? Then instead of writing the script for 2.5 Amlodipine or even 5mg, she went straight to 10mg. Imagine taking all of those meds if you never needed them to begin with all because your provider either didn’t care, wanted to push a pill, or misread a reading from a manual cuff. No thank you."
