"I went to Twin Nails in Fall 2023. I had such high hopes after reading so many great reviews…but this was one of the worst nail salon experiences I’ve ever had. I chose it because I wanted a French manicure entirely done with dip powder. I called ahead and the person I spoke with confirmed that they offered this service. Unfortunately, it turns out that they do not; they offer dip powder base, but they paint the tips with shellac. I was very disappointed by this given how hard I’d tried to do my research ahead of time, but I’ve had dip-shellac French manicures in the past so decided to press on. Miscommunications happen. But things honestly only got worse from there… The technician only removed the top third or so of my existing dip powder manicure before applying another 3 coats. This meant you could see the old neutral color under the new…and that most areas of my nails had 5-6 layers on them. When it came time for shaping, I told her I wanted almond. She did something much closer to round—and got down far enough to draw blood twice—so I showed her a picture. She looked at it and scoffed before making a very halfhearted attempt to adjust what she’d already done. By this time I’d reached the point of just wanting to get out of there, so I gave up and let her keep going hoping things would wrap up without further incident. But the last hurrah was a bubbly top coat. I did point it out to her and asked her to do it again, which was met with a similar reaction to the one she gave about shaping. She “fixed” it, and I hopped up, paid, and got out of there as fast as I could. My technician was definitely the least friendly person I interacted with, but I can’t say I was blown away by anyone I interacted with. The receptionist was pretty out of it—not rude but also not friendly. The technician/manager who came over when I was asking about dip white tips instead of shellac was the best of the three but still didn’t intervene in the way I would have expected given the series of missteps that had already happened by the time she got involved. They ultimately charged me full price for the service. On a more positive note, it’s true that the prices are very reasonable and the salon seems clean. They have each customer purchase a file and buffer that they then are asked to bring to each subsequent appointment. They do this for hygiene reasons and charge $7-8 for the kit. Hoping what I went through is an anomaly. It’s clear some folks are really happy with this salon. For my money, though, I’ll happily pay more elsewhere to avoid the risk of repeating my Twin Nails experience. (First two photos are from immediately after I got home. Last three are 4 days later…by which time some of the shellac had already started chipping off.)"
"I went here with my friends to get an acrylic set. This is by far the worst nail experience I have ever had. The guy doing my nails completely rushed them, shaped them poorly, filed the skin on my fingers (to the point they had small cuts), put glue under one of my nails, and made them shorter and more pointy than I wanted. By the end I wanted to cry. I will never come back here :("
"I'm sorry but I did not like the work they did with me at all, Van did the acrylics and from the beginning I saw that I did not know how to put the acrylic on nails well, and that's why the shape of my nails were like the nails of a chicken hah literal , besides she was in a hurry and a little rude to attend , I would not come back for sure."
"Worked to fast, didn’t provide a good mani or pedi, applied color on skin. This is the sound time I can me in, after being very happy with my first visit. I was never asked if I am happy with the work, and the massage was rushed and painful. Although I scheduled an appointment in advance, they rushed everything and worked like they didn’t have time for me. I am not coming back to this nail salon."
