"Our server was very attentive, he explained the menu for our 1st time. I had the cheeseburger with bacon and fries. My husband had the open-faced chili cheeseburger. Both burgers were very good, cooked to order. Had creme brulee for dessert which was delicious. Can't wait to go back and try something different!"
"My wife went crazy about the Cajun Chili. Kinda hurt my feelings… I thought that I made the best chili in the world. Ok, let’s get the chili out of the way, so we can talk about something else. This is a delicious, slightly different version of chili. Close your eyes, take a bite and savor. It is thick, meaty, hearty, distinctly chili with a deep rich flavor. I thought I detected a noticeable pleasant dark coffee essence along with a variation of spices. Possibly the andouille sausage, possibly some Cajun seasoning, possibly some roux in with the base. The picture looks like the chili tastes, deep dark rich and flavorful. If you like chili, try this. I was wanting something simple for lunch. The Blackened Chicken sandwich satisfied. Thin slices of grilled blackened chicken breast. lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, on a fresh bun. Mayo on the side by request. A small cup of fresh Cole slaw rounded out the meal I was looking for. Perfect. The red door is very comfortable. Bright modern art covers the walls; soft jazz music fills the air. The service was flawless. Jacob, the bartender was watching the front door, seating guest, taking orders and delivering drinks. A personable, friendly young man. He checked with us often. Nothing lacking in the service at the Red Door. We enjoyed everything about our visit."
"This one is probably a once for us. The food was tasty enough, but the place is definitely not worth the rating it (currently) has. For a restaurant in a strip mall, you think they’d have a kids menu? Nope. Macaroni and cheese… think they’d offer a side size or kids version? Nope. Drinks with unexplained up charges? Check. A fried seafood basket without fries? (That was a first for me). Check. Etoufee with nutmeg? Check. Not worth the rating or price. Probably a one and done for us."
"Red Door did not disappoint. Great service, vibe and food! Parm Artichoke dip was outstanding as well as the blackened red fish, garlic chicken and andouille over rice, bacon Mac and gumbo. Everything on the menu sounded fantastic."
"My wife and I went today for lunch. They advertise that their menu is Louisiana style, so we tried the chicken and andouille sausage gumbo. Gumbo was fine, but you can get a more Louisiana-like gumbo at Cajun Ed's. Ordered the shrimp Po boy. I never had a a waiter in my sixty three years that I lived in the metro New Orleans, La., ever ask me if I wanted my shrimp cold or fried on a po boy sandwich. The shrimp is always fried. Po boy sandwiches normally come dressed with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, ketchup and dill pickle, not Remoulade sauce. Remoulade sauce is a dipping sauce with boiled shrimp. The bread is French Bread not a hoggie roll and should be warm, not cold. I realize it may not be easy to get authentic French bread, but, at least, warm the bread. My wife did not particularly care for her brisket. If trying to achieve a more Louisiana-like brisket, it needs more garlic. If just satisfying local tastes, then it's adequate. If you are ever in the New Orleans area and want an excellent Po boy sandwich, I recommend going to Bear's po boys behind Gennaros on Metairie Road or Russell's Short stop on Transcontinental Dr off of Airline Hwy in Metairie, La for a roast beef Po boy. Go to Deanie's on Lake Ave and order a shrimp poboy."
