Even though lumber prices are sky-high, the cost was less than a tenth of what I was quoted by other contractors for the fancy particle board shelves suspended on metal racks. These are sturdy wood shelves, and the measurements are competely custom to my needs. (Another contractor kept pressuring me to buy shelves according to his recommendations, all while ignoring my needs.) I love the open-concept for being able to see all of my items and find what I need at a glance, instead of having things hidden behind cabinets. The shelves are super strong, with an attractive design, and cost about the same or less than the metal racks that we've used in the past. But these are custom sized, so just the shelf heights we needed, deeper, and look better. The whole process was really easy. Matt was very responsive on bidding the job, showed up just when he said he would to install them, and charged it just as he had bid it.
