Wasatch Hollow Preserve
About the Business
Wasatch Hollow Preserve is a beautiful park and tourist attraction located at 1650 East 1700 South in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The institution is currently undergoing a Riparian Restoration project as part of Phase 2 of the Wasatch Hollow Open Space Comprehensive Restoration. The project was developed with significant public input through public meetings and workshops held in April, May, June, and July. The project, managed by Lewis Kogan, is scheduled to take place from late fall 2014 to late spring 2015. The preserve will remain closed to the public until the project is complete to ensure public safety and protect wildlife habitat. Design Consultants Bio-West, Inc. and the contractor for the project are TBD. The project aims to enhance the natural beauty of the preserve and provide amenities that were suggested by the public during the planning process.

"It's just a regular park, although the maintenance of the landscape seems to lack a little bit lately, I don't know if it's because of winter or funds or what. It's a very large park. Though I don't know the status but some time ago years ago I noticed a homeless walk up from that area by the Presbyterian Church not saying nobody can go there, but when that starts to come it becomes very suspicious especially for that kind of neighborhood, you don't want it to end up like other parks like Sugar House (lately) because of that tunnel made a safe haven for them and Pioneer Park (at the time before they made them move to various parks and ruin them) and what else ah yes Fremont Park which has been hell for awhile especially recently. If you want your neighborhood ruined with crime and drugs you'll let them camp there, just saying especially the close proximity to the houses in that area. But like I said that was years ago."
"This is a great place full of nature! The off leash dog area is NOT fenced but is large and grass filled for a good place to play fetch with your dog! My dog loved it and had a great time! They even have big trash cans for cleaning up after your dog! The park was also nice and looked like kids would enjoy it! The walking trails were closed due to the runoff flooding and fast flowing water. Not sure when the trails will re-open, the sign didn’t say… I liked this park alot as it was quiet and peaceful!"
"Pretty nice park close to home. The playground equipment is old, but the slides are fun. There are usually dogs, but they are usually on the grass away from the playground. I feel like I have to be vigilant though. In the summer the kids like to play up in the bushes by the playground. It’s super fun."
"Came here a lot when I was a kid to go on the rope swing, then came a bunch as a teen for clandestine activities, but in the last 5-10 years revegetation efforts and some simple design changes have made this place a truly wild and beautiful emerald gem in the heart of the city. There are few areas that feel truly natural left in SLC and this is one."
"Part of the wasatch hollow preserve, this is a great place to spend the day. There is a dog park, kids play area, plenty of benches, pavilions, and picnic benches. There is a nature trail. I highly recommend this place. My son and I loved our first visit. We will be back."
