Reviews of The Cape Brewing Company
"If you're looking for a place to unwind and hang out with adults, this ain't it. We stopped in around 9pm and it was basically a kids playground. Kids running amuck all over the place and parents not even paying attention. I'm a parent and I wouldn't bring my kids here and let them run wild. That's what the park and/or Chuck E Cheese or the zoo is for. Will not be returning."
"Setting aside the quality of the beer (and that’s debatable), if you’re looking for a place to have an adult beverage in an adult setting, this isn’t it. Bluntly put, this is a microbrewery with children’s play areas for parents who don’t want to pay for a babysitter … the equivalent of Chuck E. Cheese. This might work for a lot of people (mostly for those with kids), but not for adults who want to hang out with … adults. Judge this environment with the quality of the beers and the latter needs to be above par. They’re not. No particular beer is memorable to their competitors. I could go into more detail of the beers, but frankly it’s not worth it because the environment is so disappointing. The food is nothing to write home about. Pretzels, chicken strips and less-than flavorsome flatbread pizzas (which we tried), left you thinking you could make better from frozen at home. With screaming kids running around like it’s a daycare, all the pieces just don’t fit. I had enough when one kid yelled, “mommy, I need to pee pee.” It was time to go. Saying this place has “an incredible vibe,” as the owners do on their website, leaves you with a smirk on your face, asking yourself, “what?!” I gave this place a chance when they opened over two years ago. Coming back for a second time, I won’t be back."
"The lack of empathy this place has for its customers is mind blowing. The workers here don’t care enough and out customer is to show urgency in a time of need. Saw a customer get bitten by a dog of another customer and the workers showed no initiative to make sure the customer bitten was okay. They did nothing but sit back and watch it unfold."
"I appreciate the concept of having a kid- and dog-friendly environment, but I had a concerning experience last night around 9 pm. I walked in with a group of friends, including 5 adults and 2 kids. The place was relatively empty, with only a couple and two guys with their respective dogs sitting at the bar. After getting my drink and walking towards my table, one of the dogs bit me. My expectation was that the woman working at the bar would asked me if I was ok, perhaps offer a first aid kit, but instead, the woman seemed indifferent, and just looking at me almost as if I was exaggerating. While I understand that regular customers may have a different rapport, it was disheartening not to receive empathy in a moment of pain and fear. I can't help but wonder if my experience was influenced by my identity as a Latina. The lack of support and empathy from the woman at the bar, especially after such an incident, has left me with a negative impression. I don't think I'll be returning to the place. I'm sharing this feedback with the hope that it serves as a learning experience. Moreover, before departing, I conveyed the same feedback directly to the woman at the bar. In response to your reply, I'm relieved to hear that this incident is an isolated occurrence at that location. My feedback specifically pertains to the experience involving the women at the bar, not the the people around the incident. While the dog owner did asked about the need for an ambulance, I believe you could see in the video footage that the staff member remained stationary at the bar without making an effort to offer assistance. And FYI, it's worth noting that my friend had to retrieve his own first aid kit from his car, highlighting the lack of immediate support or intervention from the establishment's staff."
"Awesome place! The Tropical Mirage, I had at Andolini’s, brought me here. Has to be in the top 10 beers I’ve ever had. Having the Harmony IPA now and it goes down so smooth. Very clean place. We will definitely be back."
