"Things seem to be roped off that would indicate that you weren’t supposed to go past certain points, but there were no signs to indicate either way glad I stepped over the fence. Absolutely beautiful."
"A super fun place to go to. This makes for pretty sunset views and unique places to walk around!"
"Popped by for a quick visit while in town today. Dixie Rock is iconic to Saint George and is a very short hike up to the overlook. There is a brief ‘sketchy’ ascent up some carved out stairs in the rock. My girlfriend was hesitant the night before, but in the daylight it’s not very difficult."
"It was my first time hiking, and it was great. It is a friendly hike and has probably one of the best views in St. George. It is a little hard to reach if you start walking from the beginning of Pioneer Park; it will take you approximately 2 or 3 hours, but if you start from the parking lot, it will take you less than 20 minutes. I definitely enjoyed this experience and left wanting to do more. I hope to return."
"We LOVE Dixie rock! Everytime we vacation in St George we bring our climbing gear and rapell. The access to the top is relatively easy, the cliffs are plenty vertical with fun ledges at the base to land on and cast off from. The anchors are well placed and solid. I miss the old pistons, though. Plenty of tourists coming and going, and only rarely do we compete for rap spots. My kids are 25 to 10 and they have all found something they like. The crags and crevasses at the top of the rock and around the base fascinate my 10 year old, while my 16 year old likes climbing. All of us enjoy repelling. Views are an odd mix with the main street below, the large white DIXIE on the rock face and St George spread below contrasting starkly with the primitive and slowly eroding red sandstone of southern Utah below us. The rest of Pioneer park attracts so many other families we just found our first passion on the Rock."
