Reviews of East End Village Apartments
"Initially, living in East End Village was great. The views of the city, the rooftop terrace and the industrial feel all made this a pretty cool place to live. Unfortunately, during the summer of 2023, there were several major issues that left a bitter taste. 1) The AC in these rooms will not keep up with the Oklahoma Summers. If it's 100F out, it's going to be hot in your apartment, even with the AC on constantly. It is mildly uncomfortable to say the least. Running the AC constantly is expensive. 2) Crickets. Yes, Oklahoma had a cricket epidemic in 2023 if you believe the news. Crickets everywhere. It was manageable until August. Then the cricket horde arrived. They were everywhere and we found that crickets seemed to be crawling through the roof and dropping into the apartment. A couple of crickets is fine. 40 crickets in one night? That's just ridiculous and was the final straw. The Dyson was put to work that night and it almost didn't survive to tell the tale. 3) The overall cleanliness of the inside areas. It was fairly obvious that things were not cleaned as often as they maybe should be."
"Edit: I thought I would leave the review below because of how much Elaine has changed this place around!! Honestly, I haven't seen a property manager take such care of their residents. I have lived in quite a few different metro areas, and you don't get careful attention like this. Every maintenance issue is fixed immediately (the trouble I had below in my first review was attended to right away), and there's always Tenant appreciation day to get some good food if you can make it. I had a really poor interaction with a resident that made me question my safety, but I let Elaine know right away, so that made me feel at ease. Everyone is pretty cool around here for the most part. Changing my 3 stars to 5! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maintenance here completely oversteps boundaries and walked through my apartment unannounced. My girlfriend screamed and I thought it was an intruder. Another incident, while carrying a large package, a maintenance man asks "what you got there"? Um.... my personal business? I tell him my bed and he goes "isn't that heavy?" Wow Sherlock I had no idea. Lastly, I woke up at 6:30AM to them banging on the other side of my room wall. 6:30 AM. Other issues: - You can hear everyone's loud, rattling, bathroom vent from your room. - So very many dogs, but the "dog park" is a patch of grass. - USPS doesn't deliver your mail here until you tell them to start. (Never seen this before in my entire life)"
"Made an appointment to tour a unit at 3pm, was left standing in 104° weather for over 40 minutes while the manager ignored calls, left texts on read and no exterior doors were accessible. Beyond unprofessional, if they treat potential renters like this I can't imagine how they treat residents."
"The location is amazing, with a few options for parking nearby. I loved the roof access for cooking with a skyline view. We could walk anywhere downtown quickly, and also had quick highway access to go to work or leave town. The apartments are unique, but hastily constructed. There were still pencil marks on the walls and paint around every outlet and towel rack, as well as paint drops on the floors, and holes in the cabinet backs from missing the studs during installation. We could hear every footstep of our neighbors above us, as well as every conversation from the hallway due to the interior windows, so we had to sleep with earplugs. Upon leaving, they took almost the entire deposit, citing "cleaning fees" due to Covid, which wasn't in the lease, and the apartment was left spotless, cleaner than when we moved in. They also cited maintenance and repairs costs, but never sent the itemized list of the damages after we requested it. The windows didn't open to the exterior, and the vent over the stove just sent the filtered air back out above the microwave, so the apartment got extremely stuffy and always smelled like the last thing we cooked for several days. I might have enjoyed my stay there more if I stayed in a unit with functioning exterior windows and no upstairs neighbors."
"This has been the quickest and most stress-free move-in experience I've ever had. Antonio, the property manager, is very professional and he was very diligent in overseeing this process and completing tasks in a timely manner. He is amazing and will take care of you! East End Village Apartments is the best place to live downtown, and I couldn't be happier with where I am! The location is ideal for a night-life since it's close to all the great places like the Guthrie Green, and Blue Dome District, but it's private and quiet enough to enjoy a night on the rooftop with close friends. I definitely recommend living here. You will not regret it!"
