"April 2023- Sadly, after being a client for the past two years, customer service has declined. A couple of months ago, LaToya Rose asked me to write a google review and I now understand why. Business has not been great. I gave her positive reviews due to our personal relationship and spiritual guidance. It was a struggle to write this review since not much was learned in that timeframe. After this recent experience, I must warn customers of her “boutique” services. LaToya Rose was highly unprofessional. Instead of a boutique tax firm, Rose Tax Solutions should be labeled as “Boug-Ghetto”. Based on her actions and from other people experiences, I'm unsure if LaToya still wants to be a Tax Accountant. She is great in giving critique and asking lots of questions. She is also great in giving homework and sharing what you need to do for taxes. I now realize the "homework" given is part of the services provided by an accountant. She continuously complained that myself and other clients only use her services during tax season and not throughout the year. However, LaToya does not receive criticism well and will "disengage" you as a client if you express frustration in her services. She will cut you off and literally hang up on you (after stating she is disengaging in the conversation) if the client expresses dissatisfaction. In the past couple months, I also received misinformation that caused extreme anxiety. In January, she said "Do this…" In March, she said, "Do this instead..." Disregarding the amount of time and energy that can never be recouped. After many follow-ups attempts to file taxes, she was 10 minutes late to our scheduled meeting and "disengages" with client after 5 minutes of interaction. With less than a week before taxes is due, and trying to start this tax process in January, I wholeheartedly and EMPHATICALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this business to anyone. She will leave you hanging. Period. 24 hours later, I now have a new Tax Accountant and learned more in 15 minutes than I had in 2 years. January 2023- Rose Tax Solutions is just that- a solution. LaToya Rose provides clients with a thorough and detailed review of taxes and financial obligations. Since I moved to Tulsa a few years ago, Rose Tax Solutions has helped with my complex taxes coming from multi-states, and provided resources to keep track financially. It’s more than taxes and through LaToya, I’m learning to understand business structures, wealth-building, and financial mindsets. In many ways, she is a spiritual advisor to your questions, concerns, and processes. I highly recommend Rose Tax Solutions as your next Accountant."

"I would’ve loved to write a great review, however that’s not the case. I purposefully chose this business because it was local, female-owned, and owned by a person of color. However, the service I received was terrible. As we were preparing my 2021 taxes it was very alarming the lack of knowledge on IRA contribution limits, 1099 employees, and categories for write offs. I was so uneasy that even though I paid $650 for her to file my taxes I asked instead for her to file an extension. I then went to another agency who coincidentally had more experience, designations, and knowledge but less of a cost to file my taxes. At this point, I was not disgruntled and still planned to refer LaToya’s tax services to others with less complicated tax situations. I didn’t even ask for my money back, even though she technically had not filed my taxes all she was supposed to do was file an extension. After my taxes were filed with the new company, I received a letter from the IRS letting me know that an extension had not been filed, my taxes were delinquent and I owed them an over $3k penalty. Of course, I was shocked because I had asked for an extension to be filed but apparently paid $650 for no work to be done and to only get a penalty. At this point, I was not happy but I was willing to figure out what happened and how to reconcile the situation. I reached out to LaToya via email and left voicemails multiple times over multiple weeks with no response. Finally she got back to me and claimed that the penalty was my fault due to my “negligence” of not E-signing the extension forms she sent to me. I then asked her to confirm the email these forms were sent to and notified her that my name & email had been misspelled. Mind you, we have emailed many times so she did have my correct email address. I was very disappointed by her lack of respect when addressing me and by the fact that I had to reach out many times just to get an answer. Even after we determined that it was the wrong email address, no resolution has happened, I’ve emailed her multiple times but have not heard anything. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION--I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I had my money taken for no services rendered, was treated poorly, and their lack of competence resulted in over $3k in penalties for me. There are other small businesses of color to support, and that is what I will continue to do. UPDATE: After finally receiving a response that it was not in fact my fault the penalty was filed and they were contacting their E&O insurance I have yet to hear from them AGAIN. They let me know this on 9/29 and I have reached out 4x since then, with no response or update. Absolutely unacceptable."
