"Worst place I have ever lived. I was shown a beautiful model that was completely updated. However, they would not let me see my unit until move in day and the lease was signed. Rent was $800 for parking lot facing or $835 for Greens facing. Of course, they didn't have anything available except "greens facing". MY "greens" was an overgrown field and Kelly Ave. Unit has not been updated in the 20-30 yrs since they built the place. It smells like cigarette and pot smoke. Walls were yellow and dingy. Baseboards were filthy and coming loose from the wall. Dishwasher kept falling out of the cabinet. They came to secure it once, but it fell right back out. Washer/dryer are ancient and don't clean/dry very well. Shower doors are off the track. There is mold growing inside the clear plastic shower knob. Windows are impossible to open. They rarely mowed the back area and one of the tenants of my building ended up trimming the overgrown bush outside our patio area so we didn't have to move it aside to walk through. They didn't even attempt to salt/sand during icy weather. Wish I would have taken pictures."
"It was a decent place but problems started to take place after the first year. Should you decide to choose to be at the links, I highly recommend having a security camera in front of your window. While I was in Japan for a month. My neighbors were home and reported to me that there was a random suspicious woman that was trying to look through everyone's windows at our building. After that incident I honestly did not feel safe at the links. Also expect your release to go up a 100 dollars every six months. Last thing I wanted to share is the last experience I had with the links before I left. My washer machine had stopped working. I was told by the maintenance man that they were going to order a replacement and would take about 7 days. I checked in with them after the 7 days. I was told " They changed distributors so it was going to take longer for the washer machine to arrive." I was being patient and waited over a month and when I finally asked the front disk about when the new washer machine would arrive, they said "we can order a replacement for you." I was so confused. they had never ordered a replacement to begin with. The same day I demanded the front desk to just send someone over and fix it. They sent a different maintenance man over and he fixed it that day. I was upset that the washing machine could have been fixed a month ago if they had a knowledgeable person working on my washing machine to bring with."
"If you want to take your chances, rent here. I've lived here for 5 years. The rent has gone up and the place has gone downhill more and more every year. Front Office/Management - Front office has gone through so many many personnel changes and none of them seem to have gotten friendlier or more knowledgeable. Not sure they understand this is our home we call to discuss with them. On the positive side - you can at least get ahold of them during office hours every time. Even though most the time calling them doesn't resolve anything. Maintenance - the bane of my existence. Again multiple personnel changes since I've been there and still no improvement. I have had several things break down and 50% of them get fixed. The other 50% I get told they are fixed and they never do. Doesn't matter how many requests or calls I put in to get something handled. The biggest concern is the MOLD SPOT that has been growing darker since May 2022 from the roof leaking into my apartment. I have sent photos to maintenance with the requests, called the front office, emailed the front office with the photos, talked with maintenance on several occasions when they have entered my apartment on multiple occasions to change my air filter. You would think this would be a major concern (especially since it is in the contract to inform the owner of any potential mold) and something to be handled right away but according to my ring camera, maintenance walks in, looks at it for a minute then walks out. (this has happened multiple times) Nothing more happens. I have given up on other maintenance issues like my ice maker not working and never getting fixed and ended up having to buy a countertop ice maker. Maybe the roof leak/mold spot will be fixed before I move out or maybe they will just paint over it when I leave and the next tenant will be living with an unknowing mold problem. Wanna take your chances? Security - car has been broken into twice and a friend's car had an attempt at being hotwired. Gate has never worked once since living there. As a single woman, I would not recommend these apartments for security in the least. And of course, front office does not care and nothing "can" or has been done. Police also do not get involved. The grounds - looks like they really care about their golf course more than anything else. All other grass rarely gets cut when it is due. Lots of big dirt/muddy spots with no grass. Bushes and hedges are out of control. When they scrapped the paint off the porches recently (they do once or twice a year for a fresh coat) they left the big mess of paint laying on the grass beside our building for over 3 months until I finally emailed with photos letting them know it just keeps getting mowed around and no one has done anything to clean up the mess. Pests - they do have pest control come often. I have watched them come in and spray one spot in my kitchen then leave so not sure how much that is actually doing but I don't have too many issues with pests besides the scorpion that got me this year and had them come spray my unit completely for scorpions not just one spot. Rent - I have lived there for 5 years because my next move is buying a house so I've been saving but I'm currently house shopping! My rent has been raised about $300 a month since living there. Not the most expensive apartments for rent but that is a pretty big jump in payments. Amenities - they are a huge stickler for the rules! Can't use the pool with out your laminated amenity card and it better not be expired! The pool sucks. No shade and most loungers are broken. Only one guest allowed and no outside drinks. Gym is worn out and small but treadmills are nice. I guess the golf course is the only thing they really have going for them. Unit - spacious, livable and can be homey. A/C unit is unbelievably loud and leaks in my room sometimes. My sound sleeping has suffered since moving in because of it. Normally quiet neighbors. Windows stick. Big gap in bottom of front door. Master closet is big. Storage space is great."
"They showed my family member a patio apartment and acted as if that’s what she was getting. But on move in day, gave her a smaller one with no patio. They didn’t do a full make ready and the dishwasher/microwave were both broken. They did a minimal temporary fix on the dishwasher and shortly after it was broken again. She’s not staying once her lease ends."
"The Links is a great complex to live in if you like to drive a car that has no windows in it. Photos were taken 10/16/2022. My car has been broken into 3 times in this complex."
