"I'm not impressed with the customer service or work of the location my fiancé and I visited. We found out we owed quite a bit of money and requested our documents back so we could see another tax representative I was recommended to try and lighten the burden. When we arrived at HR Block to pick our files up the woman that spoke with us was passive-aggressive and standoffish. She did give some sound advice about W4s, but once she realized we would take our needs elsewhere we ceased to exist. No eye contact, short tone, and a guilt trip about how they spent hours of work on our return, which couldn't have been true because our tax situation is relatively simple. When I also mentioned that the return was incomplete due to our home sale income not being included, she said it was our fault for not turning in the correct documents. I told her that communication is a two way street; my fiancé originally asked them to tell her what they needed simply because she doesn't know. They never did, despite talking with her about potential home deductions at their original meeting and providing them other home related documents. She smirked and rolled her eyes. So attention to detail is also lacking. On top of that, she tried to make the case that we were done a big favor by filing us as married-joint which "she did not have to do." The tax representative we saw later showed us it was a difference of $50 between that and filing us both as single. That's extremely manipulative. Thankfully at Jackson Hewitt we had a better experience. We saved $700 on Oklahoma taxes, were able to add deductions to our home were told at HR Block that we weren't able to, and we saved $200 on filing. So all-in-all about $1,000 cheaper going elsewhere. The cherry on top: the rep took the time to answer my fiancé's questions and guide her through the process."
