Reviews of Oreck Clean Home Center
"Summary: Not an authorized Miele repair center; don’t expect servicing to be executed promptly (or at all). Call before you go (no matter what brand of vacuum you have) store sometimes closes early. Details: I have a Miele that we purchased from a yard sale over 5 years ago. It has always run well, but recently started turning on only at certain positions on the cord reel. If I pulled the cord out all the way, it wouldn’t turn on; if I retracted it partially, it would run as usual. We dropped it off at this store to be repaired in early October 2023 (2 weeks after the birth of my youngest). I called multiple times to check on the status of the vacuum (I have a toddler and a baby to clean up after!) only to always be told that he "couldn’t get the part". In December 2023, he gave me a loaner vacuum cleaner: an upright Oreck with no attachments for corners/crevices, a bad belt that smelled like the thing was burning up, and half the cleaning performance of my Miele. Finally, in March 2024, (yes, 5 months later: by then my baby was crawling on poorly vacuumed carpeted floors.) I called to check the status and he informed me that he had put a different cord reel in and that it didn't fix the issue. He then proceeded to describe a different problem altogether (machine turns on and then back off again). He told me he thought it was the motherboard and that he didn't want me to keep putting money into it if it wasn't going to be fixable. If the description/diagnosis he gave me was true, he must've been the one who did the damage, because that was not the issue before. By this time I had contacted the authorized Miele dealer my mom used for hers (in my home state) who found it exceedingly improbable that the part had been on hold for 5 months: they never had to wait that long for parts. They also recommended that I keep my model if at all possible since it is an excellent machine. I've since realized that this store is NOT an authorized Miele retailer or repair shop. Miele does not list this location on their website, but you'd never know it when you pull up: the windows are plastered with Miele posters. I noticed when we finally went and picked the vacuum cleaner up (still taken apart in pieces, 3 weeks after the "motherboard" diagnosis which came just before our vacation), that the only Mieles he had for sale were used ones. I don't know if he intended to dissuade me from fixing the machine so he could fix it up and add it to the collection of used Miele canister vacs for sale on his floor, or if he was genuinely interested in keeping me from dumping funds into a money pit, but I won't be taking my vacuum there anymore to find out. There was a nicer, newer Miele than mine there waiting to repair and I feel bad for the poor person who left it there in good faith that it would be returned in better condition than they left it. On another note: Twice--once on a Friday and once on a Thursday--we called to see if the store was open and they were closing at twelve that day and would remain closed for the weekend. I was glad both times that we called because I live an hour away, and both times that was going to be one of my main reasons for loading two kids up and driving that distance!"
"Took our Kirby in to get a tune up and get a used transmission replaced and got home and it sounded horrible the transmission has an awful clicking noise when turned on and in motion. Took it back and the guy said it was normal , I argued with him and told him transmissions arnt suppose to be making noises i tried explaining my point and continued to talk over me. It was clear he wasn’t going to do anything to fix it so I asked for my original transmission back and he said he threw it in the trash. Do Not come here for repairs and expect your vacuum to sound or work like new. Customer Service was absolutely terrible ."
"The church I work for uses this place for our vacuums. They always take great care of us with fast friendly service"
"I have used them twice. Once to fix a switch on a dryer and another to repair & overhaul my Dyson DC17. Both times they saved me hundreds of dollars on having to replace. I have had my Dyson for 13 years and I was afraid it was a gonner after it started making loud noises and stopped sucking up. They overhauled and cleaned it up (it was seriously gross since my daughter thought it can also be used to pick up wet stuff) for a fraction of what I bought it for!"
"Super nice owners. Pat's tea shope is next door, this a really nice place for buying many options of tea as well as for renting the place for kids' tea parties."
