"Dr. Boyd is amazing!!! So blessed to be going here for my teeth!! I got my kids appointments there too!"
"This office is probably great for adults but I do not recommend them for children. Their front desk is amazing, friendly and competent. My initial appointment for a new patient routine cleaning and exam took over two hours. I did feel like they were thorough and my teeth felt clean. I took my kids for routine cleanings as well and they seemed to be fine. Although my first red flag should have been when they were taking my 12 year old back I got up to go too and was told, we only allow the patient to go back”. I said, “well, he requested I go.” And I just continued to go back and the dental assistant said, “we only allow the patient” again. I just continued to walk back because I do not know these people at all and my son was uncomfortable. She mumbled under her breath “well, ok then.” And took us back. There was a chair available for me and it wasn’t in the way or anything. Everything went fine. The assistant was kind and there were no problems. My older child was also getting his routine cleaning at the same time. He ended up needing some treatment. We scheduled it and they told us it wouldn’t be more than a two hour job. We arrived on time and they got him back. I sat in the waiting room by choice. Two hours passed and I hadn’t heard anything from anyone. Two and a half hours in, my son texted me from the back saying it should be another half an hour. I texted him back asking if he was ok. He said “I am alright… there is only one doctor here so I was sitting alone for the last hour.” I was still sitting in the waiting room so I went to the front desk. They said they were sorry it was taking so long but that they were finally getting to the main work on my son. He has been there for 2.5 hours and still had only 1 of his 3 cavities filled. Nobody said anything else to me. Half an hour later I still hadn’t heard from anyone so I was getting upset. The front desk was so kind, compassionate and they were frustrated too. They said “this isn’t who we are”, “we don’t operate like this”, “we are so sorry”, etc. But they told me it was still going to be another half an hour. I still had not heard from a doctor or assistant. Finally, three and a half hours after we had arrived, my son comes out with tears in his eyes and sits down in the waiting room. The assistant came out all chipper and said “he is done. He will be sore so he can have ibuprofen and if there are any bite issues we can fix it.” That’s it. No doctor came out. The front desk ladies didn’t ask for payment or anything they told me to go home and care for my boy. I got in the car and he told me then that HE HAD BEEN LEFT COMPLETELY ALONE FOR AN HOUR AFTER HE HAD BEEN GIVEN ANESTHETIC. Nobody checked on him and he stood and up and walked around and one assistant said he could use the bathroom. But by the time the doctor got back, she had to add more shots. He also told me that people were going back there telling the doctor that his mom was getting annoyed and upset. I was frustrated but to go back there and express that to the doctor in front of my kid seems unprofessional. I walked back in to the building and asked to speak to the doctor. She came out looking rather frazzled. “You have a question?” She asked quickly. I mentioned that my son said he was left for an hour and so had to have more shots because it had worn off. She said no it wasn’t because he was left so long but because some people just need more. And she made many excuses for how long it took. It may be true that some people need more shots but she didn’t apologize for time it took, for leaving my child alone, etc. I told her that this office needs to work on communicating better with their patients and their parents. She said ok. And that was basically it. The front desk continued to be apologetic and said they would follow up with the owner. They all knew that my son and I left that building feeling upset. It has been over a week and I haven’t had a single call of any kind from the office. Not apologizing, not checking on my son, nothing."
"I just recently switched to Boyd Family Dentistry. I went today for a cleaning and the girl who cleaned my teeth was amazing! She was very meticulous and did a fantastic job! My teeth look amazing! Dr Boyd is great. Doesn’t recommend procedures you don’t need and tells you why she recommends what she does. Their health scan is very informative and helps you to see beyond your smile! 100% recommend Boyd Family Dentistry!"
