Reviews of Utica Dental of Tulsa
"I had a wonderful experience here! I was a bit nervous/anxious, but from the moment I walked in the door I felt comfortable and at home. They answered all my questions with detail and enthusiasm, you can tell they love what they do! My hygienist was excellent and gave me encouragement the entire time I was in the chair. The dentist, Dr. G, was very nice and personable. I will absolutely recommend this dental office to everyone!"
"Everyone is professional, friendly, and accommodating. I love the bird and squirrel action while you’re sitting in the chair. Almost worth the visit just for the view. And who doesn’t appreciate clean restrooms? I feel they do more than most to make one feel at ease during a dental appointment."
"Not the best fit if you're looking for preventative care and solutions to avoid bone loss and costly future visits. I requested a preventative procedure during two prior visits. I discussed my interest in getting this treatment three times, once with the dental assistant and twice with the doctor and dental assistant together. I was told numerous times that the procedure was expensive and not covered by insurance; I’d already researched on my own and had my mind set on getting the treatment, but the doctor and dental assistant made it seem as if the procedure was unnecessary and talked me out of the idea, so I trusted their judgment and moved on. At a later visit, I was informed that I’d need to get more work done (that was more expensive than the preventative procedure I’d previously requested) that could have been avoided if I’d not been talked out of getting preventative work done. When I brought this issue up during my cleaning, there was, conveniently, no record of my request. The dental assistant I had before had not documented what we discussed nor my concerns/needs, and was no longer employed at the office. Great. To make matters worse, the doctor said we never had the discussion, even though we did and he told me the procedure was expensive and not covered by insurance, he even told me the price per tooth and I distinctly remember saying I was fine with it and they still talked me out of it. It could be that the doctor forgot what we’d previously discussed considering the number of appointments they have and patients they see—it’d be impossible to remember every single issue or request a patient has, but that’s what the notes are for, and my notes were never documented... by anyone. I also noticed during my cleaning, that the dental hygienist commented on how the charts from my wisdom teeth extractions hadn’t been updated either. While the assistant responsible is no longer at Utica Dental, I can’t help but wonder how many patients have been impacted by similar negligence and why there wasn’t some system or audit to follow up on those charts to confirm that they’re correct especially if the assistant's departure was due to performance issues. The office manager apologized for the mistake and offered a discount on the procedure, which I appreciate, but ultimately, it was no consolation for my loss. I decided to switch to an office that emphasizes preventative care and maintaining natural tooth structure to avoid extra visits and costly repairs, surgeries, cosmetics, (or worse) in the future—no matter how profitable or beneficial for business metrics."
"I choose Utica Dental, after watching them remove my daughter’s wisdom teeth. She was nervous, therefore I was allowed to go into the exam/ treatment room with her. They took their time to get her comfortable. I was throughly impressed with their professionalism. My personal experience was great. Their attention to make sure that I was at ease. From the reception, to the dental technician, and then the Dentist himself , everything was top notch. I, without hesitation would recommend Utica Dental ."
