Reviews of Wimbledon Place Apartments
"I lived here for 2plus years and the rent went up everytime my lease was up for renewal. The pool was rarely open and the laundry mat on one side of the complex was in constant disrepair cuz it wasnt the side the manager lived on. The maintenance is as good as the workers r treated, there was, at rare times, ppl who actually cared and did their job. My moms ceiling leaked everytime it rained for 14 months. The cops that live there do whatever they want while the rest of us couldnt leave empty flower pots on our back porch. We were evicted as soon as the manager left and new one came in, because of " housekeeping " ( they couldnt get rid of the pests that were in BOTH the apartments i moved into, ive never had them in my life). Crumbling guardrails, rampant theft and homeless, shootings at night, plus never ONCE did the streetlight at my sons bus stop work"
"Tl;dr Avoid this place like the plague. There are MULTIPLE GOOD REASONS TO NOT MOVE HERE. But if you do end up moving here, I don't judge. This place isn't cheap but you wouldn't be able to guess that based on the present state of any of the apartments. Maintenance is good but the office is hit or miss. Sometimes an actual human works in the office. At other times, it's someone with their first taste of authority so they over use their authority whenever possible. They couldn't care less if you're illegally parked in a handicapped parking spot, but if your porch furniture isn't on the up-and-up, look for an email to threaten you and your place of residence -because this is a "nice" place to live. Lol Definitely don't spend money applying here. You can get so much better for the same price WITHOUT paying to apply. Also, the bill for water is NOT based on how much YOU used; your potential future water bill is your entire building divided by however many occupied apartments there are at the beginning of the month. So, if you're someone who likes to conserve utitilities so you don't have to pay a high bill, too bad for you. You might as well use the utilities as much as you desire because if your neighbor is already doing this, you're going to have to pay for water bills that are higher than Cheech & Chong at a 4/20 party in the International Space Station whether you're the one using a lot of water or not. Don't like this? Too bad! You're locked in a lease that is very expensive to get out of. Make sure you're comfortable with ALL of the contract. Your health insurance might already give you access to a gym so there's no reason to look at the workout room as any sort of benefit. Lord help you if you live in one of the buildings that constantly has plumbing work done on it. Oh, this is a big one: don't try to work from home in this apartment complex. I've often seen just about everything from the internet to the electricity go out due to the construction to the west and to the east. I hope you like the sound of jets taking off and landing. Bonus points if you like it when USAF jets from Tinker Air Force Base in OKC head to Tulsa for whatever reason -because you'll hear them if you're home. My last neighbor moved out because of the price of this place & the fact that the internet just goes out for 10 minutes to a few hours randomly. I hope the fact that the electricians working for the internet provider are working as fast as they can is enough for your boss to not fire you. I also hope you don't have any super important health issues that depend on the electricity or the internet 24/7. That could be a problem. Lord help you if you leave your "valet trashcan" on your porch for more than one day at a time. Everyone does this but the office can use this against you if you do this. I've posted some photos of where management actually ordered maintenance to apply white paint to surfaces where problems exist, aka "white washing". Also in the photos, steel beams that began to rust in the 1960s are still rusting and rusting off. Every once in a while, I'll find a chunk of the steel that literally rusted OFF and fell to my front porch. I hope a chunk never hits me. There also isn't a single surveillance camera on this property outside of the office. I consider that odd because it's never been cheaper to own and use wireless video cameras. People in my building and the next building to my north have had their vehicles broken into. My vehicle has sustained more than one injury just being parked in the parking lot. If you still want to move here after all of what I've said, I don't judge. We're all prisoners of our own devices, here."
"Taylor is property manager at Wimbledon Place and she is very efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and mostly gets the job done whenever there is a problem.. Let’s not forget about Melissa and Danielle (in maintenance) who also get the job done by keeping the property maintained and keeping the grounds clean. thank you for making it a better place to live."
"Don't move here unless you have absolutely no other options. It's loud. There's no parking. Even if you pay for an assigned, covered spot, you might have someone park in it because the apartments surrounding Wimbledon don't have enough parking for their residents and the assigned parking is not marked as such. You can call courtesy patrol, but it'll take hours to get the car towed. And don't get excited about the heated indoor pool or the giant outdoor pool advertised on the signs they have. The indoor pool is always either closed without notice or the heat either isn't on or is broken. The big pool was only open a combined total of maybe a couple of weeks this year because it has been "under repairs" for at least 2 summers in a row. The laundry room is disgusting and always in disrepair. I found a hypodermic needle in one of the washers once and haven't used their laundromat since. Construction right outside my door and painting my actual door without ANY advance notice at all. I literally woke up and opened my front door to a person on a ladder taping it shut with paper to protect the trim. Didn't get even a text notifying me until about an hour later and then later had to chase around different painting crews to find my Christmas door decoration that they removed and hid in the bushes without ever even ringing my doorbell to let me know, and I had to communicate with them all using Google translate because the office wouldn't do anything to help me and the painters only spoke Spanish. Valet trash service is mandatory and costs $15 a month on top of rent, whether you ever use it or not. They don't pick up on weekends or holidays, even stupid holidays that only the bank gets off, and they don't pick up if it is too cold, too hot, or if it's even raining outside. Also, they are constantly having some sort of major plumbing issue, which has led to at least one water bill more than twice the normal cost and even though they pay the city and bill us for the monthly average, they will pass 100% off the additional cost on to their tenants and send a mass text insinuating it is their fault because someone isn't reporting leaks in their apartment promptly. The owners don't care to make this place any better or even stop it from getting progressively worse because they have a hard time keeping staff anyway and there is always a revolving door of new potential tenants who are too broke, desperate, and without good enough credit to be able to afford to be choosy, so they're still making money. Maintenance does their best, probably. Office staff probably gets hired thinking they can make it better or not thinking it's this bad, but they figure it out pretty quickly and then leave."
"Pros: - spacious apartments - Good parking - Amenities - Quiet Cons: - shuts off water for prepares - Outdated appliances - Took maintenance 2 weeks to fix my emergency request on a leak. - The Pool is not open everyday due to maintenance. - takes staff a few business days to reply to emails or text. If you rent here be prepared for them to shut off your water at least 1-2 times a week, because they are fixing water lines. It’s sort of pricey regarding how outdated the appliances are. Lastly, you most likely will not get a deposit back if you break a lease or have other fees, they send all fees to a collections agency and you will have to pay in 30 days. Your deposit will go towards your remaining balance, which I have no problem with but just be aware."
