Reviews of Smith's Pharmacy
"These people are always helpful. This is the Smith’s at Bengal BLVD, Cottonwood Heights UT. The entire pharmacy staff is top notch, friendly, helpful and kind."
"This pharmacy will keep you on hold until you hang up. Check perscriptions for accuracy. On the upside, they are good for vaccinations."
"The phone system is terrible, there is no voicemail and no way to text the pharmacy either. No way to call in a new prescription without talking to someone in person. They’re great in person, but I called a few minutes before their scheduled lunch time. Sat and listened to it ring for 5 minutes and then they were closed for lunch. They didn’t even bother to answer and they don’t have voicemail."
"Wow! The "friendly neighborhood pharmacist" does still exist! My prior two pharmacies have adopted a police mentality, treating you like a criminal and suspicious of every prescription you try to fill. I actually went to Smith's because the Walgreen's on Ft Union didn't have what was prescribed. That Walgreen's lost me for life... Smith's was so kind, caring and compassionate I'll gladly stay!!"
"Absolutely the worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. I was happy to find that this location carried my medication in the dosage my doctor wanted me to take, which is pretty rare. My doctor called it in and I picked it up. When I got home I opened the stapled bag they had handed me and found that they had given me a different dosage than the doctor ordered. I called my doctor to confirm the order, he called the pharmacy, and they explained to him that they did it that way because of what was allowed by my insurance. Interesting because I told them I didn't want to use insurance and paid cash for the prescription. Even if insurance was the issue somehow, it didn't match what my insurance allows either. I went back and spoke to the pharmacist, who explained that he had had a long, busy day and couldn't be expected to dispense drugs correctly as ordered by my doctor. He said I should have called in advance to explain that I wanted the prescription my doctor ordered instead of what he decided to give me instead. I had called in advance to ask about the availability of the dose my doctor was ordering, and other pharmacies have called me when they wanted to dispense differently than my doctor ordered for whatever reason. He also blamed me for not opening the bag and checking it for accuracy before I left the store. And since I didn't he wouldn't do anything to help me even though the medication was unopened. He cited several reasons he considered the situation to be my fault and didn't offer a single word of apology nor anything resembling a solution. I really hope I never have to use this pharmacy again. This pharmacist is downright dishonest if not hazardous in my opinion. He also told my doctor that he is too busy to worry about filling prescriptions precisely as ordered in some cases. It's interesting how he blamed the whole thing on me while at the same time explaining why he couldn't be expected to do things correctly. For me this was a very concerning conversation. My doctor recommended using a different pharmacy after this experience. The prescription the pharmacist decided to dispense cost me about 2.5x per dose more than what the doctor ordered. Maybe that's the answer? If I see a claim go through on my insurance for this, I intend to report it as fraud. DO NOT trust this pharmacy. If you must use it, ask a LOT of questions, verify absolutely everything they say, and check your prescriptions for accuracy before leaving the counter. Definitely do not simply assume that any medication they give you is what your doctor ordered."
