Reviews of Sam's Club Tire & Battery
"Came in due to my air pressure in my tire being low, the guy was rude and didn't want to help, I asked if he can please look at it as I don't know from what I can see, he didnt look at it told me to open my door "put air in it and said you should get that looked at" Tried to ask him questions and he would just cut me off constantly I just said ok and called another store"
"TLDR: overall good place to get tires and tire-related services but expect the possibility of lengthy wait times at appointments. Pros: - Good brands, wide selection, and very good prices on tires, especially during sales. - Good services included on tires that you buy and price fairly for tires bought elsewhere (wish they did things like alignments though). - The face-to-face interactions I've had have all been good or great, they've got that aspect of customer service down pat. Friendly and knowledgable. - Some tire shops might sell you older tires that have been sitting around for awhile (possibly years) but the tires I've had put on here have always been very new. (If you're unfamiliar, look up "DOT date manufacture code"; tires are stamped with the week and year that they were made.) - They called me to help me save money when they had no obligation to do so. I ordered some tires in mid-late November that were on sale. A week later I got a Sam's mailer showing a new sale starting Dec 1st which included free installation ($80 value) and figured oh well, tough luck. However, I got a call from the tire center asking if I'd like to shift my install date to Dec 1st to save the $80! I was really impressed that they'd proactively each out to help me - and presumably others - save that money. Cons: - If your appointment is for later in the day be prepared for them to take 1.5 hours to get your job done. You can try calling ahead to see if they're behind or on schedule but you're almost certain to not get an answer (see last item in cons list below). I get that slowdowns throughout the day happen and add up, but this has happened to me every time I've had an appointment any time other than when they first open or shortly after. I guess it's like a doctor's office and you just have to put up with it. - Despite being behind schedule it's common to see employees glued to their phones hanging out at the back. Maybe not all of them are certified to do the work on the cars or they're on break and don't want to hang out in the cold open-air bays outside, or maybe there's only so much work to be done at a time. In any case, it doesn't come off well when the shop is collectively over an hour behind and there are three employees heads down scrolling for 15+ minutes. - Maybe this is true for all Sam's Club locations now and not just this one, but any calls get forwarded to a centralized, outsourced call center. The reps I've spoken with have been friendly but communication has been a struggle."
"Bought a set of tires at the shop with a damage warranty. Then I got a flat tire and took my car to the shop for a warranty fix. The tire was not repairable. The condition was pretty new so I was supposed to get a new tire, but they didn’t have it in stock. Eventually it took them 2 weeks to figure out this situation and I could not use my car while I had to drive a lot. Then when the tires finally arrived, I did not get a phone call, I was told that they “lost” my phone number. Terrible experience"
"After getting a new and high-price battery from Sam's for a couple of days, my car could not start. Visited them and asked them to check. They did not want to check, claiming that my car needs mechanics. Visited the 2nd time after 1 hour and this time a technician checked. The bolt connecting the battery was loose. Tightened. Worked well after the fix. I suspect that the bolt was not properly tightened when they replaced the battery. 1 star for the trouble and for the refusal to check for the first time. 4 star for overall experience."
"I belong to Sam's and Costco. My last tires I spent over 1k on turned me away when it came time to repair a flat, not once but several times. Sam's not only fixed their tires but also explained what fix a flat does to a sensor. While driving with my car tire indicator light on the day my Costco tires where installed and stayed on for a year I finally decided to but tires which was 300 cheaper than Costco but they also replaced the sensors that were bad and relieved me of looking at that tire warning light every time I drove. After them fixing Costco tires flats 4 times instead of putting me off or saying they are booked for weeks like Costco did they got it fixed that day. I'm a Sam's Club tire customer for life and extremely impressed with how honest and friendly the staff was the Murray store. The Costco experience failed multiple times in the tire shop they didnt want to deal with the problems and acted like they didnt have time for me."
