"I love the fact that I don’t have to get out of the car during oil changes with Take 5 & the service is always friendly, fast, and efficient. My last visit was no exception. The half-off sale resulted in me being able to leave a tip during these hard times & I hope that goes to the guys that worked on my car. Thank you, Take 5!!"
"TL;DR: DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A WOMAN OR KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS. All the reviews have one thing right: The customer service is great and the employees are friendly and treat you well. HOWEVER The first time I came in for a routine oil change back in November, I was almost immediately hit on by an employee working his last day, and while that was happening, they over tightened my drain plug without informing me. When I came in on Friday, they cross threaded my drain plug just trying to remove it. I was leaking a quart of oil in 24 hours, and my oil pan now needs to be replaced. Replacing an oil pan is a $200 - $1000 repair. If you leak oil badly, you run the risk of causing serious damage to your engine which can lead to a total loss of the vehicle. In my case, I was quoted $800 which includes the labor. Being a Doordash/UberEats driver, this has cost me almost 4 days of lost wages and a huge headache. Having talked to the district manager, they tried to push me to see their partner repair shop, ShadeTree, which I was told by their own employees that they have questionable business practices. It was starting to look like they weren't going to approve the quote I got from the repair shop I chose because I didn't get quoted by their business partner. Luckily, I was adamant that I would be going through my own shop as I did not trust them to work on my car. I've been hearing from my friends who work on cars that Take 5 isn't actually as great as all the reviews say. I'm willing to admit that maybe there's been a decline in service. But the repair shop I spoke to even told me that people have been coming in a lot recently because Take 5 has made mistakes or damaged their vehicles. As a woman, it's almost impossible to find places to get your car serviced that aren't trying to take advantage of you under the assumption you know nothing about cars. I read reviews for Take 5 saying that women were treated very well here. While they did treat me like they did any other person, I would not take my car here again. I would rather deal with some amount of patronizing in exchange for competency than equality in exchange for incompetency. I understand full well being a mechanic takes training and a fair amount of know-how but I could've done my own oil change better using YouTube than these guys did on my car having proper training. That being said, I do not blame the employees, they were just trying to do their job. This issue must be a management thing if not an upper management thing. I urge anyone who is not knowledgeable on cars not to go to Take 5 or any place that has you remain in your vehicle. It is NOT OK to go in for a routine oil change and leave with an $800 repair. Personally, I go to TAS Tire and Auto. They may have some old school ideas about cars, but they have never done as bad of a job on any vehicle related service as Take 5 did on a simple oil change. The guys are also personable and the prices are fair. Find places with reviews that talk about more than just the customer service and be careful out there! To anyone who read this far, thanks for coming to my TEDTalk lol"
"Super fast service, they tell you everything that’s going on, super reasonable price, and I didn’t even have to get out of my car. In and out in 20 minutes, and even after a 20% tip it was still less than what I would spend at jiffy line. Definitely my new go to for oil changes"
"Overall it was a good experience. We waited in the bay for about thirty minutes before they got to our vehicle. They did give us a 25 percent discount which helped with how much time they took to get to us. I usually do the oil change and oil filter my self. They caught that I had been neglecting to fill up the antifreeze. Without the discount the oil change and filter was about twice as much as what it would have been had I done it myself. They had three people hovering around my car during the experience. Not sure why they needed to many people."
"Fun crew and gave my kid some fruit snacks. I can't recommend this company enough! Awesome promo of helping us first responders out, we appreciate it!"
