She delights in seeing the progress of her students. Christy has experience that makes a positive difference in people’s lives. She is seasoned in working with children and has the passion and formal training to make her instruction top-notch. Christy has a rich background in dance, ongoing training, and formal education. My family enjoys the annual dance recitals at Kingsbury Hall. I am always amazed at how the choreography, colors, textures, dance styles, and various musical rhythms all work together to create a well-paced performance, especially when it is balancing a huge cast of dancers of various ages and ability levels. Such a feat takes great planning, artistry, and skill. My family also enjoys the community Nutcracker performance that Christy and the Utah Dance Arts Center helps create each December. This year we had both a party boy and a Chinese dancer in the performance. My sister danced and now my nieces and nephew all dance at the Utah Dance Arts Center. Dance is a gift that keeps giving, and I am thrilled that it is making such a positive difference in my family’s life. Dance helps girls and boys become attuned to the body, become physically strong, learn poise and graceful movement. It teaches one to focus, follow instructions, work well with others, understand timing. Dance builds confidence. And it is enjoyable and fun!"

Utah Dance Center is run by a local family with a real passion for dance. Several dancers go on to dance professionally, while others reap the benefits of learning discipline and poise at a young age. Styles of dance taught here are ballet (with pointe for those ready), jazz, and tap."

"Professional dance center where the teachers are more interested in technique than trophies. They do not do competition dance. They believe girls should NOT be pushed too hard. They are focused on the girls capabilities and maintaining a good technique. They perform an annual recital at Kingsbury Hall that is beyond cutsie. New parents are usually awed by the magnitude and professionalism of the recital. Modest costumes are compulsary. There is no heirarchy between elite dancers and the others. Classes are available starting at age 3 years old."
