"My daughter started ballet at 3 years old and she hasn’t stopped dancing since. She is set on working towards becoming a professional ballerina. As a mother who has no connection or real understanding of the ballet world but wanting to do all that I can to help her achieve that goal, I have spent hours upon hours researching the very best ballet schools here in northern Utah. We settled at what was considered the best, in the 'city'. It, like the other academies, was focused on high enrollment, had a mixture of good and poor teachers, lots of politics, and in the end, we felt she was getting lost in the crowd. She often left feeling unchallenged, and we noticed she was struggling with things like alignment yet not receiving any corrections. What I came to realize was that these types of places would give my daughter an excellent ballet education but would not make my daughter an excellent ballerina. I wanted to find someone that would see my daughter’s dedication and passion for ballet instead of just another student. After spring exams is when I started my search once again. I called over ten ballet schools to speak with their directors. We went to four placements, trying to find the perfect fit. I say this because I want you to know I really have done all the homework and believe wholeheartedly that there isn’t a studio that comes close to being as great as IBC. It wasn’t until the end of summer when I saw an ad for International Ballet Conservatory. The pictures of the gorgeous studio, adorned with crystal chandeliers everywhere and the ambiance of a modern theatre, pulled me in immediately. But when I spoke with Victoria Stocki-Kim I knew I had finally found the diamond in the rough, a studio like no other. My first question to Victoria was ‘what are your intentions for your studio?’ She responded that she wanted to get eye to eye with her students and really see them. She wanted to know who they are. What their ballet dreams and goals are, this way she could do whatever necessary to help them achieve their highest success. The class sizes are small, so she has the time and focus to correct any technique or other issues, but this also allows her to attune her curriculum to the student’s needs making her classes both challenging and enjoyable. She teaches the Vaganova method and not a watered-down version as she trained under a direct graduate of Agrippina Vaganova’s class. In my ignorance I was unaware of how important this method is in keeping the dancers’ bodies free from injury and stress. Every moment of her class is focused on building from the toes up, a skilled and proficient ballerina. Not only is Victoria Stocki-Kim dedicated to her students in a way that is near impossible to find, she has all of the qualifications to back it up. She is an ABT National Training Curriculum Certified Teacher of the complete program, her professional experience spans internationally across fourteen countries on the major stages of the world as a soloist with Universal Ballet, and Tulsa Ballet. She graduated from Kirov Academy of Ballet and trained at The Rock and SAB. Utah is fortunate to have her expertise guiding its future ballerinas. I understand not all young dancers have such big dreams, but there are so many that do. And as a parent of one, I understand the struggles and pressures of feeling the need to make the best decisions to help your dancer, yet feeling like a fish out of water. At first I was hesitant to leave such a well-known and respected program, and International Ballet Conservatory may not yet have the clout that some of the other academies rest on, with it being the first year IBC has opened its doors, but it can only be a matter of time before Victoria’s personally perfected dancers begin to make a stir in the ballet world. I have realized it is not a school's name that will get my ballerina get picked up by a company someday, it will be her talent. And that talent is finally being nurtured, encouraged, and advanced by Victoria at International Ballet Conservatory. @emmelinaballerina"
"I whole heartedly recommend International Ballet Conservatory! Victoria and Jay are amazing individuals who are kind, friendly, generous, hard-working, and extremely talented! They have both dedicated their lives to the art of ballet and are so excited to continue teaching what they love, but now at their very own studio! The Kim’s Conservatory is absolutely stunning! They put so much thought and care into every single detail! The pictures don’t do it justice; walking around inside the IBC is completely magical! You’re going to love it, as well as the masterminds who created this beautiful space for learning and development!"
"If you have a youngster or a teen who is really into ballet, I recommend this school! I know the directors behind this school from my professional ballet days, and can wholeheartedly say that not only are they wonderful coaches who truly care about, and are dedicated to, the art of ballet, but they are also absolutely wonderful, ethical people as well. I am so happy for this school starting and that it’s continuing the tradition of the Vagonova Russian style ballet training. There are so many dance schools that are “tap ballet jazz hip-hop,” and geared towards kids doing competitions all the time; nothing wrong with that, but it’s a breath of fresh air to see a pathway towards attainment and mastery of the true art of ballet at a professional level!!"
"You will not find two equal or superior instructors as Victoria and Jay. They offer more than just world class ballet instruction with their extensive experience in international teaching and performing. They are also 100% pure light, with so much passion, positive energy and a lifelong dedication to their art. They are absolutely committed to each dancer's pursuit of their dreams. They have poured their hearts and souls, as well as their blood, sweat and tears into this beautiful conservatory and pour this same amount of passion into their students. I can't say enough wonderful things about Victoria and Jay and highly recommend International Ballet Conservatory to anyone looking to pursue ballet as a profession."
"Victoria and Jay are absolutely incredible! Their passion for the art of ballet is reflected in all that they do. It touches all areas of their lives with immense reverence and respect. Their hard work and dedication is exemplified in the stunning conservatory they have created. In addition to their numerous awards and accomplishments, they are extremely humble and kind people. Not only is their training exemplary, but so are they. Anyone who chooses the International Ballet Conservatory will most certainly become a better dancer and ultimately a better person."
