"I just removed my girls after the winter recital. We were with JDS for one year and will never go back. When we asked for better communication we were refused. (Later after much frustration they agreed to email.) They use one form of communication and that is the band app. It’s not user friendly and sends ads. Sad because most dance studios use much better platforms for communication. For my family, communication is key and they only have one key, the Band app. It’s an extremely limiting business choice. I don’t have time to go into the lack of skill that was obtained while my girls were there. THEY ONLY PREP FOR RECITAL. Athletes need practice in many areas to acquire skill and coordination. Not just a specific routine. I’m honestly wondering what they did with all that time, considering the routine was well done but basic. My daughters actually told us they don’t work on technique just the basics. How do they expect their dancers to advance when they aren’t teaching technique outside of these routines. I’m actually really sad because my girls enjoyed JDS but I’m not keeping my children somewhere they aren’t learning or advancing as dancers. If you want your kids to grow as dancers remove them from JDS."
