"I rarely leave reviews but this needed to happen. I was seeking mental health help from Dr Irwin’s office as I was looking for a change in treatment and I thought this would be great. At first, I was so hopeful for the first time in a very long time. Dr Irwin recommended we do genetic testing to see which medications work for me. She was patient, spent time with me and listened. I had a huge weight lifted. Things seemed to be going well. When I brought up an issue with a medication the solution was to double the dose. Things progressively got worse and I had an appointment to chat with her about it. As I get to the appointment I am told my insurance isn’t working and I have a hefty past due balance (not once was I informed that my insurance was not going through). I couldn’t afford to pay the balance and they do not take care credit. So I had to reschedule while fixing insurance. ***side note here. Every interaction I have had with their receptionist has been nothing short of terrible. She is rude and absolutely unwilling to help. It blows my mind that she is allowed to treat people that way in a mental health office. I have left crying on multiple occasions due to our interactions and how shocked I was that I wasn’t offered help or guidance and every question I asked was met with resistance. I tried to figure out what was going on and couldn’t so Dr Irwin would not see me and I had to reschedule*** At the rescheduled appointment there was still an issue with insurance so I couldn’t be seen, so I was dropped due to so many missed appointments. I figured out the insurance and the receptionist was not running the correct insurance and also informed me she would not run any past appointments through insurance (even though I was insured) That last appointment was an emergency. I was crying and so lost in the lobby and the receptionist basically said nothing she can do, good luck and I was told once again I could not be seen. We have dealt with 3 very unexpected and close deaths in our family in the last month and I my career came to a halt. I was in very desperate need to be seen for assistance. I am floored, disappointed and just all around sad at the lack of care, attention and empathy from this office, especially from the receptionist. Dr Irwin, did not try to reach me to discuss dropping me, she didn’t try to call, message, email to ask what was going on and what was needed. I was dropped as a patient due to missed appointments (I had one missed appointment on my own and I had COVID and forgot to cancel). Every other appointment was either Dr Irwin, cancelling, then rescheduling and I never received the message or confirmed (so was charged for a missed appointment, even though I didn’t know about it. That conversation with the receptionist was also wildly frustrating) or because of insurance issues, that turns out weren’t even issues but was being done incorrectly by the receptionist who refused to offer any type of guidance or assistance (guess that wasn’t her job). Simply, it feels as though they don’t care about your mental health and well being. I guess I was mistaken for what psychiatrists and mental health offices are for. If you are seeking an insane amount of meds thrown at you, and when you have side effects doses doubled or if you don’t mind being treated like a burden by the receptionist this might be the place for you. If the staff at Dr Irwin’s office reads this, please do better. People actually need help, they are struggling and some are at a breaking point. The lack of empathy, understanding and willingness to help find a solution to actually care for your patients is severely lacking. I needed help, desperately and you turned me away without even trying to find a resolution or have a conversation about it. I sincerely how and pray that no one else who is currently experiencing intense mental health issues has to be subjected to this and especially not the staff at the front desk."

"I have been a patient of Dr. Irwin, Donna, and Nicole for years. I was referred due to being over medicated by a previous doctor. The entire team is very friendly and goes out of their way to assist. They truly listen and care. They will not and do not just write prescriptions. We all have different personalities. The receptionist is very kind, compassionate, and caring! She remembers when I need refills before I do, and ensures Dr. Irwin signs prior to leaving. That is going above and beyond! She is amazing! If you seek unnecessary medication this is not the place to go. If you seek knowledgeable physicians that can truly help you. This is definitely the place to go."
