"Similarly to other concerned parents of extremely sick children with life threatening allergies, in January 2022 I and my baby's dad took our 1 month old newborn baby to her office and expressed concerns about the baby not sleeping well and fussing etc. Dr. Koul recommended a different formula we were very happy and thankful for her input because we did not know anything about formula feeding. Following month at his second well baby visit, I informed the Dr. baby boy was still not tolerating the formula well and I was reprimanded by her saying if there was a problem I should have called sooner (I wanted to give the formula time and thought he needed time to adjust to this change). We changed the baby's formula again to sensitive formula and once again I thought this is it, so thankful we finally figured out his issues, fast forward to vaccination time, I went in and third visit (it wasn't a few weeks because of holidays and office appointment availability, it was more like just a couple weeks between appointments) I went in to the office with the same concerns. Baby won't lay flat, sleep, eat without extreme fussiness, colic, spit up etc. I got the old spit up is normal, try the wedge for reflux etc. and once again she gave me another formula to try but stated "I wouldn't want to buy this for my baby because it is very expensive", it was the nutrigimen, I refused the vaccinations once again because I had been up with my baby for days and the solution to my baby's problem had not been resolved. I insisted that we wait once again, Dr. Koul was more interested in reprimanding me for not vaccinating on their schedule, and telling me of people dying of Pollio in her country than actually being concerned for my baby's well being in that current moment or my concern for it. She continued to tell me that all children in her practice are vaccinated (which I would like to clarify I am not against, I was not interested in vaccinating a baby who's immune system was already in my eyes, compromised). We moved on, found a Dr. that would listen to my concerns, unfortunately for my baby, she recommended Enfamil AR for the reflux. He immediately had a reaction to that formula and I switched back to the sensitive, called the Dr. requested allergy test we had to wait for the appointment and found out that my boy is severely allergic to milk, casein, cats, dust mites, trees, mold, weeds, and grass. The big life threatening one here is the milk allergy..... This goes way back to Dr. Koul not taking my concerns seriously and listening to me. I have to have an epi pen and carry prednisone everywhere. This could have been caught early, I will never forget the allergist saying to me he was on sensitive milk? Not Nutrigimen? "The one that I would not want to buy for my son because it is very expensive...." Dr. Koul."
"Congratulations on the new office, it's great! Dr. Koul is super awesome, both of my kids have gone to her for years. She is so cool that my 19yrs. old son has told her that he refuses to be seen by another doctor lol. Thank you, Dr. Koul for everything, it is so nice to have a doctor to call on."
"I took my 2yr old son to Dr. Koul for the first time last month. It was a wonderful visit. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Dr. Koul's Nurse was kind and talked with my child at his level, instead of ignoring him or talking over him. Dr. Koul was wonderful too. It was just an 2yr check up, but she was thorough and patient. I am excited to find a good Dr. with great staff so soon. The location is great too, new building near 121st & Memorial. (Bixby Pediatrics) Also, getting an appointment was painless and quick. Some places are booked months out but they got us right in."
"I have taken both my kids to Dr. Koul since they were born. She is amazing with the kids and my son loves her. There have been many times he has pretended to have a stomach bug and begged to go see Dr. Koul. That says a lot coming from a 4 year old when most times young kids see their doctor when they are due for shots. He has had a few scary medical concerns and Dr. Koul has went above and beyond for him and for myself. I worry myself sick and am a big stress ball anytime something is wrong with my kids. It doesn't matter if it's a minor bump on the head or a serious issue. Dr. Koul has always made it a point to ease my worries when she can, on many occasions Dr. Koul herself has followed up with me by phone, I can't count how many times I have called after hours and she always calls back within minutes to give medical advice, or send prescriptions to the the pharmacy. She has made us feel like family since day one. I have peace of mind knowing that if one of my children suddenly get sick she will make time in her schedule same day to check them out. I have never been to any doctor now or as a child that has given me the personal care that my family has received from her. Even when she referred my son out to a specialist she called to make sure we didn't have any concerns not yet addressed and to confirm where we were taking our son. She followed up with us almost immediately after. It's those little things that show she cares and wants to make sure my kids are getting the care they need. She has taken the best care of both my kids, and of me (extremely anxious parent) and we love her. If you are looking for a pediatrician who is great at what she does, treats you like family, and goes above and beyond to make sure your kids get any care they need then Dr. Koul is your pediatrician. I really can't express how much we love and appreciate her. We are thankful to have found her. She is the best!"
"I was asked to write a review for Dr. Koul because she had been receiving bad ones. However I stopped going to her years ago. Our youngest son had asthma but we didn't know that. He was in and out of the hospital for over a year for respiratory problems. Turns out or apartment had toxic levels of black mold. We were still going to Dr koul before we found that and expressed to her our concerns and not understanding why our son was so sick all the time. She always dismissed it so we were left frustrated. The last time we went to her our son was sick again. By this time out roof at home was leaking and we were in the process of trying to get out and we put two and two together of what was making our son sick. We were trying to get our son better while dealing with moving our family of 5 last minute. The last thing we needed was a rude doctor. We brought our son in and Dr. Koul made a comment that my husband was rude to her (we were very stressed) and wouldn't even listen to our sons chest or anything. He was 1 and a half at this point so still very young. She rushed us out and wouldn't even help us. My son ended up being admitted that night and his pulse ox was in the low 80's. Had she listened to us and tried to help us he could've gotten help sooner. We were supposed to be able to trust this woman with our son. She broke that trust. When I called the next day about the situation she mentioned again how my husband was short with her and acted like we were over reacting still while my son was laying in a bed at the children's hospital. Regardless of whether my husband was short with her, she still should have listened to my son's chest and checked his pulse ox and she still accused us of over reacting knowing his stats and that he was in the hospital. She broke our trust. We immediately changed doctors. Especially after the children's hospital pulmonologist was baffled that our son went through this for over a year and dr. Koul not once sent him to a specialist to test for asthma which he did indeed have and because of his insurance we had to have her referral. Now he is almost 4 and has been to a new doctor I changed to right away. He is a healthy, silly, sweet boy that has been taken care of by his pediatrician in Owasso and his pulmonologist he should've seen back then. If you want someone you can trust with your babies do not take them to Dr. Koul"
