"We had to take our dog to emergency services and we had a great experience. The ladies who answered the phone and came to get my dog were very kind. The vet was great and very informative. I could tell he really cared about my dog! It was a stressful situation for me and they were all patient with me. It’s great to know you can take your dog to people who are kind, patient and really care about your animal! I also want to add they were upfront with the pricing. I was never charged for something and surprised when I paid the bill. They would update me as the price changed and I was able to accept the charge before they would take the next step Thanks for taking care of Theo!"
"Mountain West Veterinary specialty clinic deserves more than five stars. We have three fur babies and through the past five years each one of them have had their turn going there due to an emergency. Mila got stung by a wasp and went into anaphylaxis they saved her life. Luna ate a teabag. She became very sick fast she was vomiting and shaking. I called and let them know what had happened they promptly came out and got her they took her back and kept us posted every step of the way. They monitored Like N.A. for hours to make sure she was ok to come home. We were so grateful for everything they did to save her. Bug ( Rugby ) was our 11 year old elderly pug that had been having some health issues we had been taking him to his primary vet for months and giving him different medications when nothing was working and his health continued to declined. He didn’t look well and he passed out so we rushed him to the clinic the care and compassion that was shown to us when we arrived they took Bug back right away and told us it could take up to a couple hours to assess him but within 15 minutes the vet came in and told us he was not doing well we opted to do further tests that led to his diagnosis of cancer. We were devastated to say the least but every staff member we came in contact with was so helpful, kind and truly cared. We never felt rushed to make a decision. We opted to take Bug home for a couple hours of family time so we could love on him and go through the jack in the box for his favorite chicken fingers . We returned to the Clinic a couple hours later and we were greeted by the most compassionate staff. Having to put your precious fur family member down due to a terminal illness is so hard but I have to say the staff helped us through such a painful loss. I appreciate each and every one of them ."
"We had an expericne here 5 years ago that was pretty traumatic and I felt was handled poorly, but ultimately came back to try them again because they are local, and the only ER close. It was a really positive experience, Emily Blunt was super friendly and warm. I’m glad we tried it again. (I was also in grief of losing a pet so it may have clouded my judgement.) Vet techs were all super cute and friendly too. Super affordable in my opinion."
"This is a bit of a long one, but I’ll try to get as many details as I can without being too long. I want to preface this with I do not trust emergency pet care. A few years ago, I had to take my friends cat to an emergency vet in the Midvale area. She was pregnant and the kittens had died, but she couldn’t birth them so she was septic. They told us that we either needed to pay $4000 or the cat would die and it would be our fault. We left with the cat and drove her to a vet in Idaho where they managed to save her life and it was only $400. Thanks to that emergency vet, I don’t trust the service in general. Fast forward to this last Thursday night. Our 1 year old Frenchton ingested a gram of marijuana. My husband has a med card and it was one of his cartridges. We aren’t certain how she got it, and she didn’t eat the battery which was a good thing. Still, at 4 in the morning on Friday my husband called Mountain West and while on the phone, our little girl threw up a pile the size of her head. They said to bring her in, so we did. After the previous experience and reading some reviews, I was terrified. I was more terrified of losing my baby. The staff was really compassionate and understanding, and when it came down to it the pricing was actually not nearly what I thought it would be. We took the vets recommendation to hospitalize our baby and left at 5:30 in the morning, hoping everything would be okay and we’d made the right decision. We were told no news was good news. Later that morning, we got a call from Buffy to give us an update. Our little Wynne girl was doing fine, and we could see her but they did want to keep her over night for observation. My husband went to see her and then we got a call saying we could actually bring her home that evening as she was doing better than they originally thought. We also got a refund of some of the deposit we paid. All in all, this was a vastly different experience and I’m extremely grateful to the staff at Mountain West. Thanks to them, this traumatizing accident didn’t ruin our holidays and we got the best Christmas gift of all. More time to spend with our sweet, loving little Wynne. Thank you so much to Buffy and the rest of the staff that worked to save or little love bug! And thank you for showing a jaded individual that no two places are alike. If ever we need emergency pet care again, I know where we will be going."
"Dr. Johnston, the front desk, and the vet techs took wonderful care of our pup! He got a GI blockage and was very well taken care of! Staff was very polite, professional, knowledgeable, and communicative. I know he was in competent and caring hands. Thank you, Mountain West team!! We are so grateful for your help and expertise. We are so happy to have him home!"
