"Update: Mountain Ridge’s Office Manager reached out this week. She was kind and apologetic and I feel like she listened and explained kinda what happened on their end. She was very understanding and helped resolve the situation to what I feel is fair. I originally gave them a 1-star review but I did promise I would update my review if they were able to make up for it. They may have fallen short initially, but I feel as though they have redeemed themselves a great deal. Hopefully, this information and updated star rating reflects their efforts to make it right. They did finally email me my results (two weeks is apparently pretty standard for the assessment results, but that was not communicated initially which was a source of frustration for me), and the therapist called me that day to go over the results with me to my satisfaction. They were also able to refund part of what I paid for the assessment because the information was not clear on their website. Overall, I feel good about this resolution and am happy with their customer support. I would definitely recommend them now, but I have left my original review attached. Partially because it was entertaining for me to read and write, and partially to show that, despite falling short in some regards, there are good people left in the world who will take criticism and use it as motivation to do better, which they have. Original review: Out of frustration I am writing this review perhaps too hastily, but I feel like my gut response is what the people need to see. When I went in for the initial mental health intake interview, I thought the therapist seemed friendly and knowledgeable. The following week I took a computer test (for ADHD) for which I was supposed to have a follow up appointment to discuss my results. However, that night I got a phone call that my follow up had been cancelled and the therapist would instead email me the results. Because I was paying out of pocket for the assessment, I figured this would save me money and a trip (the prices on their website are not accurate to what I paid, either). After a bit of radio silence I called to verify they had the correct email on file. They verified my email and assured me they would send out the results the following week. This all seems within the norm, except a week passed and still no response. I began to grow impatient and so I called once more to see if they could give me an update. It had been longer than a week after all. The receptionist was very kind and informed me nothing had been uploaded and that she would speak to the therapist and he would email me no later than the end of the following week. The frustration comes because it was now the second time I had been told that. As I still await my emailed results, I am contemplating whether I should post this negative review. Last I checked they had one 5-star review, and I’d hate to ruin their average star rating. The thing is, unless they are somehow able to redeem themselves in the next couple of days (at which point I will update my review), as of now, I feel as though I have not been a priority and they have not been upfront with me with regards to costs and timeframes. Truthfully, they have turned me into the thing I am most afraid of becoming—a “Karen.” Not only did I call them twice, I am writing this with some mad “can I speak to your manager” vibes and I cannot even look myself in the mirror. I hate what I have become as I wait on what is apparently a simple email and not a follow up appointment as originally discussed. Anyway. Thanks for letting me vent, Google. As for Mountain Ridge Behavioral Health, please improve your communication and consider under-promising and over-delivering instead of the other way around. Best of luck and sorry my review is so long. In the future, I will perhaps seek elsewhere for the mental health help I need. Please don’t be mad, but instead simply send me the results of the test I paid out of pocket for."
